Le Case di San Vitale Easy

We stayed in le Case Di San Vitale Easy in the downstairs room and can highly recommend it. The B and B is just a 15 minute walk from the station and directly opposite the Basilica, so ideally situated. Our room was well appointed with tea, coffee and fridge; good air conditioning. There is a quiet courtyard to sit out in . Staff all very pleasant .

We stayed in Le Case di San Vitale Easy section of this marvelous place and the artful aesthetic is far more attractive than the pictures shown here. A balance of minimalist taste and old-world quality were invested in the remodel of this lovely property that includes an outdoor courtyard. Our room was a thoughtfully designed space with a spacious modern bath, comfortable bed, and access to a well appointed coffee station downstairs. We walked to this ideal location from the train station and were greeted by a warm and helpful staff who provided several excellent caffe and restaurant recommendations. We also found a brochure in the foyer for an excellent mosaic tour. We hope to return to Ravenna and Le Case di San Vitale someday and we highly recommend.

Our family of 5 stayed here for one night prior to a cruise departure. The staff was communicative and the rooms and common areas are just as described and literally the cleanest B&B we’ve found in our 5 trips to Italy spanning Roma, Massina, Napoli, e Sorrento. The beds are extremely comfortable. The location is perfection in the centro storico. We could not get enough of this little neighborhood. We absolutely will be back and would love to stay for 2 or 3 nights to take in charming Ravenna.

Really more like a tiny boutique hotel. I think it has 7 rooms. Everything looks new. Architecture entrancing. We stayed in the suite on the upper floor. Tall wood beams in the ceiling. Large spacious rooms and lovely bath. Excellent breakfast. Great location right adjacent to 2 of the fantastic mosaic filled churches. Also excellent close by restaurants. Monica, the manager was lovely.

Needing to be in Ravenna to board a cruise, I booked a room at Le Case di San Vitale based on reviews, location and price. I'm sorry to say that I wasn't able to actually complete my stay here. I booked a few months ahead and arranged to pay for the room about 2 weeks before. My car service from Bologna airport was able to drop me off in front even though the property is in the ZTL and you need a pass to drive into that area. All of my communications with the hotel before my stay were excellent and the replies were timely. I asked for the room with the cool blue mosaic bath )(Abside) and that was the one I was assigned. You will need to arrange for check in as the hotel is not staffed 24/7 which was part of the reason I left. I called the number on the door and about 5 minutes later, a lovely lady arrived to check me in. I was given a set of keys/key cards: one for the wooden door that closed after around 8PM, one for the terrace and the real key for my room. The room was lovely and very clean. However, it was VERY hot and I was not able to get it to cool down even after a few calls to the staff member. I wasn't comfortable leaving the windows open as there are no screens and I didn't want bugs or anything else coming into the room. The elevator has a sign that it should not be used after 8 PM and that if you do use the elevator, have someone standing by. That was a little bit off-putting. I have bad knees and can't run up and down stairs. I will say that the hotel (it's a B&B or Inn, I wouldn't use the word hotel to describe the property) was very clean and in an excellent location. Once I decided to leave, I popped into Casa Spadoni, a little bar just next door and the kind server called a taxi for me on her phone. (Luckily I'd stopped in for a cocktail earlier while waiting for the room to cool down.) The bed (I rested for about 30 minutes once I first arrived) was comfortable and there was a nice amount of storage. There's a lounge area where guests can relax and a nice courtyard outside. While this wasn't the hotel for me, you might be very happy here especially in a different room or in cooler weather. I wasn't able to reach anyone to let them know I left and at this point it makes no difference. Just be aware that air conditioning in Europe is rarely going to be cold enough for Americans. (And I moved to the NH Ravenna around 9 PM that evening. The air there didn't get cold enough either but at least the hotel had a full staff all night)

Located directly across the exit to the Basilica di San Vitale, you can access both the Basilica and the Mausoleum di Galla Placidia from the entrance around the corner about a block away. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with a view of the courtyard. Small blue, mosaic-sized tiles brightened the large bathroom to resemble a starlit evening sky. The spa-like shower with a rain showerhead could fit 2 people at the same time. The air conditioning kept the room very comfortable, and unlike some hotels in Emilia-Romagna, was turned on in May. On the top floor there is an enormous library/living area where you can sample digestifs provided for all the guests. Coffee and tea are available all day in the foyer. Since we did not purchase the daily breakfast, the hotel recommended a pasticceria a few blocks away that had the best coffee and cornetti. In fact other cultural sites of Ravenna are within walking distance including Dante’s tomb, and Basilica di Sant' Apollinare Nuovo. We only stayed here 2 days, but wish we had stayed longer. Ravenna has much to offer, and this hotel is wonderful.
