Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, Amalfi Coast

We stayed in different 5-star hotels along the Amalfi Coast for a week and this was our favorite of them all. The staff was incredible, the views were phenomenal, and the attention to detail was unlike any other. We were also upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the Coast and ended up canceling some of our plans outside the hotel because it was just too amazing to leave!

Stunning location, beautiful building, and whilst not staying in the hotel itself, we did have dinner. Our pre-dinner drinks were served in the fabulous whisky bar, which were accompanied by a scintillating selection of hors d'oeuvres.. We were then shown to our table, which was in the grill restaurant overlooking the stunning Amalfi coast, lit up by street lighting. We were attended to by the staff who first class. The food we had was simply exquisite, as was the accompanying wine. It was the perfect end to our holiday. I would thoroughly recommend dining in the hotel, despite the hefty bill.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Caruso last year to celebrate a milestone birthday and loved it so much we came back to Ravello to visit again! You will be first fall in love with the beauty of the property and the view of the mountains into the sea, but what will capture your heart is the graciousness of the staff at Caruso. They are the heart and soul of the property! Rossella at the boutique is truly one of the most special people- she has a gift of making you feel welcome in a new place and that you have met a new friend forever. When it is time for apertivo (with the view you will never forget), the bar manager, Tommaso and his colleague Carmine, will make sure you have an incredible cocktail made with fresh local ingredients. We were there at the end of white fig season and Carmine made us a special cocktail he had created to celebrate ! The attention to detail and sincere kindness of the people wanting you to have the best experience really shines. We cannot wait to come back. ❤️

We have been visiting the Caruso for a number of years, and it has always been excellent. This year with Alfonso having moved on as general manager we were interested to see how it was: Iolanda and the team have taken something that was already outstanding and made it even better. The hotel itself remains a magical place with beautiful grounds, a stunning infinity pool and beautifully appointed accommodation and the staff remain incredibly friendly and helpful. This year Armando has really got into his stride as executive chef, and the 3 meals we had were all outstanding, whether in the informal grill or the fine dining Ristorante Belvedere. Breakfast is fantastic and available in room, and every day the staff delivered small thoughtful gifts that made the connection between the guests and the hotel and wider Amalfi coast. We took the boat excursion that runs daily down to Positano this year, and the hospitality was every bit as excellent as back at the hotel. Everyone you encounter is trying to make your stay as good as possible and really goes the extra mile, and this is what makes the Caruso a really special place to spend a few days.

I am writing this review months after our stay at the Belmond Caruso because we have never—and likely will never—experience a more special place. Every single day, we think about the incredible time we had there. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. This hotel goes beyond an ultra-luxury experience—it transcends the typical 5-star standard with its thoughtful, personalized touches and impeccable attention to detail. Every aspect of the stay was tasteful, unique, and executed to the highest quality. In a time when so many luxury hotels tend to cut corners and compromise on guest experience to keep costs low, Belmond Caruso stands out as a rare gem. At this hotel, no expense is spared to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction. Details like the use of Ginori crockery are a testament to this commitment to excellence. From the thoughtful handwritten notes from management each day to the personalized in-room experiences where they remembered our preferences, everything made us feel genuinely cared for. One moment that truly stood out was enjoying a glass of rosé by the pool, soaking in the beauty of the property, and later returning to our suite to find a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for us. It’s these unexpected but thoughtful gestures that made the experience unforgettable and left us feeling so special. Small but meaningful touches, like treats from the kitchen when the chef had been baking or the stunning souvenir (in our case, a beautiful bottle of Limoncello) to take home, made our stay truly magical. That bottle of Limoncello is so special to us that we’ve decided to save it for our wedding day! The property itself is breathtaking—a destination in its own right—and this alone would be enough for most hotels to rest on their laurels. But not at Belmond Caruso. The team continuously pushes the boundaries to provide exceptional service, incredible food, and memorable guest experiences. Belmond Caruso is more than just a hotel; it’s a place where life’s most cherished moments are elevated to something truly extraordinary. Whether it’s a honeymoon, proposal, wedding, or other special occasion, this is the perfect setting to make a magical moment even more unforgettable. This is what it looks like when a hotel genuinely cares about its guests. Every interaction felt sincere, every detail meticulously planned, and every moment unforgettable. Roberta and the entire team at Belmond Caruso, you should be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved. You’ve set a standard that is unmatched. This review is long overdue. Our six-night stay in June was nothing short of a fairy tale. Despite our frequent travels, this experience stands as one of the most enchanting and unforgettable of our lives. The staff's dedication to excellence was unparalleled. From the attentive poolside attendants to the delightful late afternoon snacks at the martini bar, serenaded by a live jazz singer and a guitarist, every moment was sheer bliss. The room service crew catered to our every whim, while the housekeeping duo surprised us nightly with delectable evening treats. A heartfelt thanks to the ever-gracious receptionists, Claudia and Francesca C., whose warmth made us feel at home. And not to forget the incredibly amiable and accommodating bell desk duo, Alex and Adriano, who went above and beyond ( returning the scooter). And finally Ciro, the host, was the most welcoming in arranging everything and managed to perfectly navigate a glitch in one of our excursions.
