ITC Lodge

We stayed here as part of a tour. The rooms are extremely basic with limited electricity and with no screens on the windows, you will need a flashlight to get through. Beds are firm. Free wifi at restaurant, but limited if many people are using at the same time. Restaurant on site. We had dinner and breakfast. Similar food choices and prices to elsewhere in the country.

A very nice lodge with a local focus, at walking distance of Isalo National Park, with rooms in clean, basic and correct bungalows (we did have hot water, which helps since it's colder at night...). The owners are impressive, do go out to the reforestation project if you have the time. There are a few endemic plants on the terrain as well, very nice. The on-site restaurant is impeccable, producing a range of dishes from local to more "international". Obviously a different price level from the local restaurants, but then you get a proper standard meal, cooked in a professional kitchen. Also: the travel agency on site is an easy way to get a guide to the park (that can't be visited without a guide). We were there in a quiet period which, but I am sure the service will always be very good, really helpful.
