After reading other reviews we went fully armed with fly fans, bug sprays, plug ins, wrist bands and mozzie repellent, we neednt have bothered None of us ever got a single bite , and I think there was only one occasion where I was put off the food due to the odd couple of flys present. The room was spacious, each having its own independent air con plus large ceiling fan , the power shower was great. Ok the decor was a little tired and the sofa bed had seen better days, and there was no TV in the bedroom (and Netflix not working on the one TV) but on the whole we were happy - the 5 x 1.5 litres bottled water left each day was a pleasant surprise as well. The public areas/bars in the hotel itself were nice, with very helpful staff , and the daytime entertainment crew were excellent. The local beer was great, which was good as the local spirits were average, but the main issue was the food. Im not a picky eater so managed ok (always a couple of fish dishes to choose from which were nice) but the kids ended up living on pizza, pasta and chips (not much change there tbh !) but the wife struggled a bit. The one exception was the breakfasts, they have eggs done all ways possible , and the bacon was possibly the best I had abroad ! The main issue to stop us returning to this hotel would be the sea, the beach is amazing but continually red-flagged due to the incredibly strong currents , even in ankle deep water the wife was nearly pulled over, so be careful. The beach sellers were very friendly , but the local football shirts they were doing a roaring trade in were cheaper at the airport. Be warned the evening entertainment is average at best.
