Hotel Villa Romantica

The hotel is like an oasis in an otherwise standard neighbourhood. The grounds are surrounded by a beautiful garden. Our room was simply but tastefully furnished. More than acceptable for a mid-range hotel. There was air conditioning and a fan which after our awful experience in San Jose was very appreciated. The staff were lovely and friendly. There was vegan porridge made with almond milk which we thoroughly enjoyed. Although there were no tea or coffee making facilities, they were happy to give hot water and we could purchase beverages and snacks. They had hair dryers that I could borrow. Good location in relation to beach, park and restaurants, shops, pharmacy, bakery.

Nice grounds and pool area with medium walk to town although not greatest neighborhood. Felt like everything was add on price. No fidge in room, no coffee or kettle at desk. Breakfast was not great and coffee refill not provided. Room poorly supplied. No TP or Kleenex. Although others have found the owner and staff friendly that was not my experience.

We enjoyed our stay here.. clean rooms, nice size set in a lovely garden.. nice pool for relaxing after a day out.. there’s an honesty fridge available 24/7, breakfast was extra & not cheap. Good location & easy to walk into town. Staff were friendly.

Loved this hotel. The owners/staff were so friendly and went out of their way to help us. The rooms were basic but very clean & safe and spacious..The location was fab and the hotel was stunning. The WiFi and aircon worked. Breakfast was amazing!

Lovely place. Dated but nice rooms, digital safe in the room, aircon and they have rooms overlooking the lovely freshwater swimming pool. The host, Wolfgang was a lovely friendly and extremely welcoming person. Breakfast was great and there’s an honesty bar which shows how trusty Wolfgang and his wife are. Would I stay here again , absolutely. A little oasis in the middle of Costa Rica.

Stayed here for two nights and it was absolutely lovely! The grounds are beautifully landscaped, full of greenery and wildlife and there is a beautiful refreshing swimming pool as well. There were lots of comfy sunloungers around the pool, including a rocking double sunbed type lounger. The jacuzzi was not working while we were there sadly, it only had very weak bubbles from the jets but nonetheless, it was nice. There was a fridge nearby the pool where you could help yourself to soft drinks or beer, you just marked down on a board what you had taken and then paid at check-out. The rooms were perfectly comfortable and the aircon was nicely welcomed. The hotel also did a lovely breakfast. Great location, it was an easy walk to bars and restaurants and only a short bus/uber away from Manuel Antonio National Park - which was also absolutely stunning.
