Marina View Port Ghalib

A small hotel but very suitable for diving enthusiasts. You can spend a week and enjoy diving for 5 days. Every day you dive in a different place. The food is very good and the sleep is quiet. Waking up to the view of the sea is really very relaxing.

I was really looking forward to some relaxing time by the pool and a bit of a swim. However , this was not the place to do so. Pool was dirty. Poolside furniture filthy. There was hair from a previous guest in the shower drain and this caused a pond in the shower. Towels were stained. No wifi in room, had to use in lobby. The lobby was hot and dark and the furniture there dated and uncomfortable. Staff never behind reception desk. Not a pleasant stay at all. On the plus side, the bed was reasonably comfortable and the air conditioning in the room worked well.

The first think I want to mention is that the animators were amazing. They always took care about us. The bedrooms were also good. There is everything you need (minibar, climate, balcon,…). We had a a little problem with restaurant becouse they cooked usually the same food. The timetable was quite bad for me, but it’s only my problem becouse I’m sleeper, so it is not a defenct of the hotel. In the end, we really enjoyed our vacation and the biggest thank I want to give hotel’s animators. This hotel is really good for young people ( I know this becouse I’m 19.), but I don’t think about loud or something like that. I didn’t expect this amazing enjoyment and it was my gratest vacation I’ve ever been.

Hello, dear friends, like-minded people and travelers! I want to share my impressions about my 32nd holiday in Egypt. I stayed in Marsa Alam at the Marina View Port Ghalib 3* hotel, all inclusive. I chose a hotel with a beautiful reef and intelligent guests. I rested in Marina for the first time in 2017, so I knew where I was going, and the 3 "stars" of the hotel did not scare me at all. The transfer from the airport takes about 7 minutes. I arrived at the hotel in the evening. At the reception, I was greeted very kindly, offered to have dinner, then given a room. A room on the third floor, a distant view of the sea. The room is cozy, clean, 2 beds, a sofa, a wardrobe with a mirror, a safe, a refrigerator. The bathroom has a shower cabin, a small hair dryer, no cosmetics, except for mild soap, bring your own. Everything works, but needs repair. Water is not brought to the room, you can bought in the nearest supermarkets or poured from a cooler into a bottle at the bar. Light insulation and sound insulation are normal, you could sleep normally. There is a small balcony above the road with a table, 2 chairs and a dryer. Cleaning is good. "Marina View Port Ghalib Hotel 3*" is a city-type hotel, that is, it has almost no territory of its own. There is a small courtyard with a small pool and amphitheater. There are almost no plants. The hotel has only 75 rooms. From the reception you go directly to the highway, but this is not a problem, because the traffic is not intense. At the same time, the location of the hotel is very advantageous. Local pharmacies and supermarkets with normal prices are very close, you have to walk through the residential city area behind the hotel, it is safe. It takes 7 minutes to walk to Port Ghalib itself. Port Ghalib is a very nice tourist area: coast, yachts, palm trees, hotels, restaurants and shops. At night, everything is illuminated, many people. This fully compensates for the lack of own territory. Food. There is only one main restaurant. The cost of recreation is not high, accordingly, savings are felt on everything, including food. The choice of dishes is very small, especially fish and meat, but I did not see stale or poorly prepared products. This kitchen will disappoint gourmets, but you won't go hungry. There was even a melon among the fruits. It's not bad for "3 stars", but I wish there were more dishes to choose from. There are two bars under the "all inclusive" system: there is a main bar in the hotel building and a bar on the beach. During lunch and dinner you can taste wine, the quality and taste are normal. At other times, they offer normal beer in bottles, strong alcohol in the assortment, or cocktails such as "rum-cola", "mojito" and others. Strong alcohol has such a pronounced unpleasant taste and smell that other components of cocktails do not cover it. Unfortunately, the beer often finished. Marina View is an average hotel. Until recently, any imperfections were compensated by the family atmosphere. It is thanks to the employees - cheerful, sincerely smiling and always helpful - that the stay in this place was bearable. This is exactly what happened on my penultimate visit. This time, after changing some of the staff, the mid-range hotel lost what was in its favor. The security staff, especially Ayman and Walid, look at the guests with suspicion, literally "looking at their hands". They look at almost everyone badly. They sometimes send sarcastic and mocking smiles towards guests. The reception doesn't quite cope with its duties... It's good that they didn't replace the cooks, because it would have ended in a disaster - at least the food in the hotel is of a good standard. The owner tries very hard and her care for her guests should also be appreciated. Unfortunately, this does not offset the unpleasant feeling of censorship and control.
