Hotel Bharatpur Palace

I made a mistaken booking, the owners response was to bully me. In his words' I am being agressive with you to teach you a lesson' I have never encountered such a rude and unkind person in 26 years in India. Do not stay unless you like abuse.Traumatic

Lovely place to stay.. at least in winter. The large terrace with sunshine the whole day is so so welcoming.. wonderful to sit and read or just gaze at the lake and the ghats of Pushkar. The view is a glorious 360 deg of the lake. The rooms and the linen is clean, large and comfortable. I had relaxed wonderful stay. Thank you.

Lovely family run hotel, good basic rooms with all facilities, excellent hosts, friendly and helpful. Great rooftop terrace with the best view of the lake. Good food, lots of activities to try, cooking classes, yoga, massage etc. Perfect location on lakeside with direct access to main market area.

Family run hotel. Meena was very informative, friendly and accommodating. In front of the hotel are public toilets so don’t breathe in as you approach. the hotel. Nice outside relaxing areas to read a book or do yoga. Rooms are spacious but need to have a good clean. Value for money.

Fantastic views over the lake but it is in the center of all the ghat action so can be noisy - my earplugs worked a treat when it started up at 4am. The restaurant was only doing breakfast because it was off season, but the fruit, muesli and curd with toast and Chai was superb every time. The best thing about this hotel are the owners, brother Dillip and Sister Meena. As female traveller's it was so great to have a strong Sister in the house!! Meena and Dillip are excellent hosts who will help with any issue or answer any questions you have. Loved my stay here and will go back to stay again next time.

This is a beautiful traditional guest house in Pushkar situated on the lake. The owners are equally as beautiful and went the extra mile to offer any service we require from laundry, train tickets, beauty services to palm reading with translation. We felt at home and looked after the whole time by two people who genuinely enjoy helping their guests. Little warning: due to the close proximity to the lake the constant mantra chanting can be intense!!

Pushkar was our stop gap destination to avoid a long journey. We were excited with the location of the hotel and would like to rate it a 5/5. Food is homely. Our package included breakfast but were charged for coffee. Loads of cats (not a big fan) in the property. A bit ewe is what we felt in our room. Rooms are very basic but offers a panoramic view of the lake. Nearby temples are walkable.

Bharatpur Palace is a wonderful place to stay. The view over the lake is spectacular and my room was very clean, comfortable and air-conditioned. Meena and Dilip are the kindest hosts. They really cared for me as I was travelling alone and I felt safe and welcome, thank you so much!

Location is THE reason to stay here, esp if you take pictures - veranda overlooks the ghats and offers the ultimate viewpoint. Come over the weekend, otherwise too few people. Prices are good. Meena and her brother Dilip are wonderful people and offer great and easy conversation, which is rare. Unheated rooms are warm enough in winter. For the price, mattresses were much thicker and more comfortable than other hotels. Wifi and electricity are weak but typical for Pushkar. Water in shared bathroom is hot. Weakest links are the restaurant (slow, run by Meena only) and the entrances - one side opens onto the ghats, which is not accessible by vehicle, and the other is separated from the road by a muddy lane running past the public toilets. With rain it could be a nightmare, esp with non-backpack luggage. Don't forget that Pushkar pujas begin early - music will wake you at 4:30 or 5am every day, esp this close to the ghats. Don't blame the hotel, but don't minimize the issue in planning.
