My son and I stayed here for 5 nights. Loved being away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk to everything. Stella and Browie out do themselves, making you feel so well taken care of. They will help set up excursions, TukTuks, give excellent restaurant and beach recommendations. The pools was wonderful to cool off each day. We saw a sloth right outside the hotel door and heard the howler monkeys in the morning. Perfect stay in Puerto Viejo!

Really nice welcoming stay. Well equipped rooms for self catering. Fortunately we had a car as it is quite a walk to restaurants and town down a dark lane. Very relaxing stay.

Down a long winding road on the outskirts of town, you escape to a quiet oasis. The double and single duplex units are perfect for self catering holidays. It is better if you have your own transport, otherwise take a Tuktuk or taxi. The pool and lounge area is a tree lined relaxation spot. The kitchens are either outdoors on the patio or indoors in the spacious units. Bring your own shampoo but bar soap and dish soap are provided. Well equipped with cookware, an air fryer, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and hot plate. Lovely owner and staff. Hot showers but need kettle to boil water for dishes.

Visited Puerto Viejo, choosing La Tica y Gata as our base. Even before we arrived, we were contacted by Browi, welcoming us in advance and providing documentation by WhatsApp. When we arrived, Browi greeted us and showed us to our apartment, explaining things as we walked. We had a short stay here, and the setting was perfect. The room and facilities are spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hosts. Stella and Browi live on site and are available for advice and local knowledge as necessary. Even to the point that Browi provided us with information and links to other places of interest in Costa Rica. This is a gem of a place in Puerto Viejo and thoroughly recommended if you are planning to visit here.

Everything was wonderful at La Tica y La Gato! The facility is beautiful and the staff and owner were very friendly and helpful. Cleaning service was excellent.

I want to say how amazing this stay was. They rescued me from an AWFUL hotel where I felt victimized and really was compassionate and treated me like a real human. I loved their pool, loved the owner Stella and greatest helper Browie. The bed was comfortable ( considering I have hip issues) and accommodations were clean, roomy and nice kitchen area.

Fantastic place!! It's a bit hidden but well indicated. Rooms are decent; clean, good airconditioning, comfortable bed! What makes this place outstanding is the people who run it. They make you feel extremely welcome and comfortable. They provided information about the area, restaurants and things to do, helped us with whatever we needed. Very recommendable!!

Wir wurden freundlich begrüsst und mit tollen Ausflugstipps bereichert. Die Unterkunft war schön und gross mit einem sehr gemütlichen Balkon ausgestattet. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet und hat einen grossen Kühlschrank und Gefrierer. Ich würde jederzeit wieder kommen.

El alojamiento es perfecto. Limpio, bien situado, con todo lo necesario. Las cabañas muy cómodas y con aire acondicionado. Estela es una perfecta anfitriona. Nos ayudaron con todo. Al lado del alojamiento había un perezoso. La piscina es perfecta.
