Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta

One of our favorite locations, the location, view, cleanliness, detailed grounds. Walkable, multiple food options near by, safe. The Bell man are extremely helpful, Front Desk people, Servers, Activity people at the pool kept those that wanted to fo activities busy. Again, their stone fired Pizza was amazing and we ordered 2 of their large pizzas and the total was only $26 American.

Run. Don’t walk—run to the nearest exit. Sure, the hotel gave us grand views and poolside drama at check-in, but that’s where the fairytale ended and the horror story began. First red flag? We had to go through airport-style security just to enter. Metal detectors? Baby, I came for a vacation, not TSA pre-check. We booked a master bedroom with a king-size bed—paid in full, mind you—but were told it was “reserved for marketing.” Oh? So now I’m funding your promo shots? Cute. The rep—concierge—manager—who even knows—served attitude with a side of fake-friendly smiles. The front desk tossed some Spanish comments about room assignments, but when I asked about the other available room, suddenly it was unavailable said the rep. Convenient. We finally cave and drag ourselves to the room—and honey, yikes. Small. Outdated. Giving early 2000s era, but not in a fun retro way. On the way there, the rep snarked, “Enjoy your view.” I clapped back: “I wanted the bed I paid for.” The view? Another hotel. Literally. The restaurant? Please. I wouldn’t serve that to my worst enemy. The only redeeming part of this chaos? The kind service staff who deserved way better than the place they were working at. Moral of the story: just because it looks pretty on the outside doesn’t mean it’s not a hot mess on the inside.

The resort was active and the location was great. We played games all day long and I felt like a kid again. Corn Hole, bocce ball, card games, pool games, horse shoes and ping pong to name a lot of them. Just a fabulous resort and the Joy Squad (Jose, Ezekiel, Wendy and Christina) helped make the experience so much better and I really appreciate them! Thank you and I can't wait to come back. The Marina was fabulous for restaurants as we ate at Porto Bello twice, LaTerrazza Di Roma twice, 66 once as well as the Bakal on the resort twice. At Bakal, Raphael, Elizabeth and Abigail were outstanding! We had a great time and felt at home with the great maid service Ana Maria gave us. Lintzy and Arturo were our concierge and you won't find any two better people than those two they were truly outstanding and very helpful. If you get a chance to stay at this resort IMHO you won't be disappointed.

I took a chance and entered a $1 raffle with a 3-day/4-night trip as a prize. Winner, winner, shrimp dinner!!!!! The prize was a trip to Vegas or other US locations, but I opted to upgrade the trip for a 6-day/7-night international trip and I'm so glad I did. Off to Puerto Vallarta for Christmas 2024! The Vidanta is its own city within Nuevo Vallarta, a quick cab ride away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Puerto Vallarta. The property is HUGE!!!! Basically all amenities on property are shuttle rides away, but the shuttle service here is a 24/7 thing. (Remember to bring $ for the shuttle staff as they will appreciate the tips.) Shuttle service can get backed up, so give yourself at least a 1/2 hour to 1 hour head start if you have reservations for anything. I appreciated the gated security here. You have to check in before you actually "check in." Before traveling I read that check in here can be a burden, however, we didn't have any problems checking in a day late due to a travel faux pas and we were immediately taken to our room. The parking lot concierge did try to give us a little push back about early check in, but we had already made arrangements due to our late arrival. There are people here to do everything for you starting with bell hops in the parking area. As we weren't members of whatever timeshare the property pushes, some activities weren't available to us such as the sky trolley, theme park and certain restaurants. The food on property wasn't good AT ALL so I'm not mad about not being privy to horrible dining experiences. The breakfast buffet had the best food as there was something for everyone. They need to do something about covering the sweet station at the buffet--netting would work great. The breakfast pastries and sweet stations were covered with bees--it was a fight to even peruse this area. The food at the takeaway beach stations was much better than the restaurants also. Getting around on property can be cumbersome. Bring comfortable shoes and get prepared to WALK EVERYWHERE. There is signage along walkways as guides to different areas on the property, but they can be quite confusing. There's also quite a stretch from beach chairs to take a dive in the ocean (see pic below). Once you arrive on property, you won't have to go anywhere for anything. There's a shopping mall (not plus size friendly for men or women), a grocery store, activities, night life, etc. The staff we encountered were all great. The activities manager sent us on a few amazing excursions which would have been more expensive had we booked on our own (which I had done, but the tour operator canceled). Although we didn't have a room with an ocean view, our room was clean, and we had a beautiful view of the grounds. As with any membership, which has its privileges, The Vidanta does make an obvious distinction between its guests and owners...however, if you're soliciting guests to become owners, this shouldn't be a thing... Would we stay here

In a beautiful Monday afternoon, our cruise line arrived Puerto Vallarta. Our taxi took us and a couple from the same cruise line to Mayan Palace for one hour Vidanta Vacation Presentation. After checking in, we are very impressive a guided picturesque resorts tour. Then we 4 seniors with Resort Sale Manager enjoyed tacos and sandwiches lunch in breeze atmosphere at the Samba Restaurant. We did not purchase the vacation package. They sent us back the cruise by paid taxi.

The hotel was great, the service was awesome as well. The staff near the pool and beach were so attentive. The pools are beautiful and well maintained. Our room was cleaned well daily. Miriam from the JOY squad was awesome and was bringing great energy to the trip!
