Stayed there for 4 nights in June 2025. Sadly a very disappointing trip. The web site does not make it clear that staying at Tambopata means that you don;t get to fgo to the Oxbow lake ot have the opportunity to look for the pink Amazonian Dolphin. There appears to be lots of things laid on, in reality there is much duplication. WE wenet specifically for the clay licks. The "largest one" is almost completely overgrown and unused and the other is a boat ride away but managing expectatiosn unless you're there in the breeding season all you'll see will be bidds flying past. The food was basis. The rooms are open to the elements and there are partitions rather than walls so if your neighbour snores you'll hear it! The desciption as a research station is "optomistic at best" there are two ladies who look at computers but not a research station as one would normally expect. The beds and towels were very damp when we were there and the shower was dirty and very tired. Don't expect luxury or even to be allowed to use a hairdryer the power won't support it. Once we had booked we were told that we needed a private guide, in reality you don't. The lodge is not set on the Amazon but a 10 minute walk away from it no opportunity to walk yourself it all has to be accompanied. The highlight of the trip were the boat rides teher and back c 2 hours to the lodge and 1 1/2 hours back (current is with you) and the tower. Realistically there are far better places to go nearer to Pueroto Madonaldo with better food, wildwlife and accomodation.
