AluaSoul Orotava Valley - Adults Only

Paid for upgrade to sea view room and got mountain view room. Talked with the reception that promised to help us. Eventually no one helped us and no one talked with us. Refused to give us the money paid for upgrade to sea view. No one helped us and no one returned to us. We will never return to this hotel.

I was really looking forward to my stay, but unfortunately, my experience at the front desk left a bad impression. When I asked the male receptionist for directions to the parking area (which was included in our booking), he was noticeably cold and dismissive. Instead of simply helping, he made a point of ridiculing me together with his other male colleague for not using my phone instead, which felt unnecessary and rude. What made it worse was seeing how friendly and accommodating he was to other guests. It was hard not to feel like I was being treated differently as an Asian woman. I can’t say for certain what his intentions were, but the difference in how I was spoken to compared to others was upsetting and made me feel unwelcome. I really hope the hotel takes this kind of feedback seriously. A little kindness and respect go a long way, and no guest should feel uncomfortable simply for asking a question. I’d love to see better training in place to ensure every guest is treated with the same level of courtesy.

I stayed at this hotel in January 2025..The maid stole a pair of glasses from my room. The staff handled the matter badly, telling me nothing………..…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….::………………………………………………..

This is a nice hotel with lovely staff and absolutely gianormous rooms, with a separate TV and seating area. The pool is quite small for the size of the hotel, but is heated and was rarely full in January. Outside restaurant hours, food is available down by the pool, which is great for a late lunch, after a morning out and about. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The food, at breakfast and lunch, is fine, but a little lacking in variety at dinner. The entertainment is varied but fun. It would probably be a bit tame for younger guests. The one thing of note, is that the hotel is high up overlooking Puerto de La Cruz, so any walking into and back from the town, involves a lot of steep uphill and downhill walking ( good for all inclusive guests’ waistlines!) However, there is a shuttle bus to ferry guests up and down to the town centre. We had a hire car ( easy, fee parking on the road or nearby car park, but expensive in the hotel car park) and we were able to visit lovely towns nearby- Icod de Los Vinos, Candelaria, Santa Cruz etc and we highly recommend the organised trip from the hotel to Orotava on the bus, led by Ana, the animación. She took us to all sorts of places in Orotava, that we wouldn’t have found ourselves. The bus station isn’t far from the hotel, and buses go to lots of places from there, if you have no car. Lord Parque is within walking distance, as are the lovely botanic gardens, although it’s a big uphill walk to the latter. You could get a bus from the top Road instead! The ‘Dragon Tree’ park is good in Icod de Los Vinos, as is the banana plantation. Candelaria is interesting and a great place for a local seafood lunch. Disappointingly, the beaches in the town were all closed due to sewage pollution,, although this didn’t seem to stop the surfers. Ther3 was also a mysterious and unpleasant drains smell by the pool area on a couple of days.

We had a 10 day holiday stopping at the Alia Soul Orotava Hotel in January 2025. We found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Great service, great food. The hotel entertainment during the day and evening was great. The hotel is located 10 to 15 mine walk to the beach. But due to sea water pollution we were unable to swim in the sea. We had a day trip to lorro park, which was very interesting and entertaining.

My girlfriend and I had a fabulous time at Alur Soul Orotava Valley Hotel! The swimming pool was a highlight, offering stunning views that we truly appreciated. Our room was perfect—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The staff were absolutely amazing, always friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a wide selection of delicious food. While the gym was closed during our stay, it didn’t affect our experience too much. However, we’re looking forward to using it next time. We also took advantage of the courtesy bus into Puerto da la Cruz town, which made exploring easy. The evening there was lovely, and the taxi back to the hotel was very affordable, costing less than 5 euros. Overall, this is a solid hotel, close to town, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We’re already looking forward to our next stay!
