Hotel Marquesa

Old charm, great value, spot on location. Cannot fault for value, OK, some negatives but, on the whole, these were outweighed by the positives. We would recommend and stay again. - Yes, the room is very dated, no working air-con, stifling hot at times (but ours was at the front, in full sun), lumpy pillows. Breakfast buffet mixed, but again, for the price, good value. We stuck to the hot eggs and bread or cheese and pastries. + Location was perfect! Just off the main road, so easy to walk from the coach drop off, but in the pedestrianised old town. Stunning views of the church, square, town and Teide from our balcony. The restaurant terrace is a great spot for people watching and listening to some of the very talented buskers playing on the steps opposite. Bar prices were reasonable too. The old part of the hotel is beautiful, make sure you pop upstairs and see the rooms at the front and the old photos around the balcony! The roof terrace pool area was an oasis of cool and quiet, again with great views. Please don't be put off by the bad reviews, go with an open mind and realistic expectations for what you are paying. This is a hotel for 'travellers' who want to experience the old town charms and be within easy walking of a plethora of great restaurants and bars. Not for holidaymakers who want to sit around the pool and be 'entertained' all day. We travelled with Easyjet holidays and this was the cheapest option on offer in Tenerife, you really would not be able to stay for 3 nights in the UK for the price of a week here and we are so glad we were not staying in some high rise, charecterless 'resort'.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to all amenities and a 15 minute walk from the station if you are using the bus. Although the reception /main areas are traditionally Canarian the rooms do not reflect this. We occupied room 504 which had a good sized terrace with side views of both the sea and the church. The room itself was a good size, but with a mish mash of furniture, some old and some new which isn't very aesthetically pleasing. The central pillar was a tad annoying, especially at night when accessing the bathroom. However, the beds were very comfortable but the one pillow provided was quite frankly woeful. The bathroom was well equipped with a powerful shower and toiletries were provided. Breakfast offered a good selection of cereals, pastries, bread, fruit, yogurt, meats and cheeses, as well as some cooked items. Unfortunately the juice and coffee were undrinkable. I appreciate that beverages from machines can be very hit and miss but these were quite honestly the worst I've ever tasted. Even the Americano had no depth of flavour, which was very disappointing as coffee is for me and essential component of my breakfast.

Really liked this hotel, comfy beds, nice room, (although the air con could do with a tweak) but it was hot weather . The view from the balcony overlooking the church and square was so nice, and the vista beyond was pretty impressive ,also,the bells were great, didn't bother us at all. Staff were really nice,had a warm welcome despite it being a 3 am arrival. Have booked the Marquesa to return in March 2025, was our first time visiting Puerto de la Cruz and already looking forward to return.

Me and my partner stayed here 10th to 17th Sept, absolutely beautiful hotel, very clean and comfortable, all staff very polite friendly and helpful, good selection at breakfast and good value meals and drinks, had a lovely stay and thank you to all the staff! Xx

Hotel for an old one was fine, very picturesque and interesting architecture in the central square. Lots of restaurants and beaches nearby. Lovely town to explore and buses are cheap and offer a very good service to other places. The only thing letting this hotel down, in my opinion is the breakfast. Same daily choices, cold cooked breakfast, processed cheese and meat, coffee not good at all and juice was more like squash. Nice churros and bread rolls, jam was cheap pre packed portions, butter and honey ok.

We were on a budget yet found this truly amazing Marquesa Hotel with its magnificent interior.... just minutes from the main square and all the local bars, restaurants and shops. Our room was spacious enough, with a balcony and a priceless sea view. My girlfriend suffers with back pain and the brand new mattresses on our twin beds were too firm for her, so we asked reception for help. Upon our return from a perfect first day out, the maids had put a massive, soft topper across the two twin beds, turning them into a giant soft super king size bed. We couldn't thank them enough. The surrounding area is so picturesque, lots of lovely murals painted on the walls of unique houses and structures. The beaches have soft black sand. It's cheap to buy stuff, 3 euros for a great pint, and my girlfriend let the softness of the bed go to her head and proceeded to buy 9 dresses in 6 days!! - an awesome short holiday, and we'll enjoy going back someday. While there, if you like a great night out, then visiting The Molly Malone is compulsory - just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, we found ourselves in there 3 of our 6 nights. On the last night, Brendan the host made sure we got a free drink - it should have been the other way around 😜 5 stars all the way 😊
