Hotel Atlantic El Tope

Just spent a week at this hotel. We arrived at 4am and they had food (rolls,pasta,ham and cheese) waiting for us which was a nice touch after a long journey...however when we went to our room which was on -1, we found it to feel quite dingy...the room was lovely but we didn't have a balcony which we felt was an essential...we moved to +1 which was a more dated room but had a lovely big balcony overlooking the pool...we were charged an extra 15 per night but it was worth it. The food was ok...there was always something to eat...the pool was lovely and quiet and we spent alot of time at the pool table.the staff were lovely and friendly. The location is great. There is a big hill to walk up but that helped with all the food we were eating so we didn't mind that and there are plenty of nice shops and bars nearby. My favourite part of the hotel has to be the rooftop bar up on level 7. The coffees are amazing and the views are spectacular. There is a nice atmosphere.it was never too busy and was nice to sit and chill with a nice breeze after a hot day. All in all I would return.

Absolutely fabulous holiday! We chose All Inclusive package for 7 nights and never regret! 1. El Tope team are superstars. Everyone is so much friendly, smiling, remembering favourite drinks. A special appreciation to a lady in the pool bar, who also recommended us a lovely local beach. Moreover, it was my partner's birthday and it was so nice to see a bottle of champagne and greeting card in the room, such a thoughtful thing! 2. Location is great, we were on 05th floor and had a stunning view to the ocean and Puerto de la Cruz. Walking distance to the bus stop (within 7 minutes), from where we traveled to the south (Costa Adeje) for a day. Buses in Puerto de la Cruz are also very good, following the timetable and just 10€ per all-day travel card. Beach is in 5 minutes, town centre in 10 minutes. Famous Agatha Christie stairs in 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel. Due the location on the hill and steps, I would recommend to consider using a local taxi for those, who have mobility issues. But honestly, the hotel has everything! 3. Entertainment. We enjoyed live music (saxophone) in our first evening. Roof terrace is fantastic, offering jacuzzi, sofas, roof bar. Downstairs near reception there is a programme of all upcoming events. 4. Food is great, amazing choice of fish, chicken dishes, beef/pork/lamb for dinner & lunch. A lot of vegetable dishes are available also. It was nice to taste local baked potatoes and rice with banana. Desserts are great, fruits are always fresh. Nice to have a glass of wine or beer during the lunch or dinner. Breakfast is classic and tasty: boiled eggs, fried eggs, few types of sausages, beacon, pancakes, fresh vegetables, flakes etc. Pool bar has a nice choice of snacks such as fries, fruits, sandwiches. 5. Environment. We are in love with Puerto de la Cruz, and at El Tope hotel we made some friends. There is a great relaxing atmosphere for people, who appreciate classic and traditional holiday in the best vibes of beautiful Tenerife island. We will definitely back again! Muchas gracias 🥰🥰😍

I have no complaints about the hotel itself, everywhere was clean, staff were tentative and the food, though very seafood based, was lovely. For someone like my partner however who doesn’t like seafood, this is something you should bear in mind. I did want to highlight the difficulty we experienced with parking. I imagine many guests hire a car with the hotel being on the north side of the island to explore, but returning to the hotel in the evenings was dreaded. We were met with unhelpful staff who were very blunt telling us we couldn’t park anywhere as there were no spaces, but then would see multiple cars parked where we were told we could not. This was very frustrating when we would have to park the car 10-20min walk away up a hill and then trek to it the next day in the heat. Overall, if you’re not planning on driving then this is a perfect stay.

To be honest, I found the hotel to be completely dead. There was no apmosfare at all. There was no entertainment and absolutely no vibe at all. The rooms were very spacious, and so was the lounge area. Another thing that I found is that allot of the staff did not speak English.

We had yet another fabulous holiday here again. Have been coming to the El Tope for a great number of years. Yet again the staff are like family to us, friendly, courteous and obliging. Some of the comments we see about both the hotel and is staff are nothing short of spiteful. Yes, the hotel is old but is now undergoing a major refurbishment. The rooftop bar and hot tubs are just fantastic. Staff are obliging, friendly and helpful. Its just so friendly and homely. I would suggest that anyone with a complaint should speak politely to the manager who I have no doubt would solve any problems satisfactorily. El Tope is our second home and in my opinion we couldn't find a better one. Yes, you can find a chrome and glass place that looks magnificent but it won't have the atmosphere that the El Tope has. I came here for a week end of may with one of my friends. We wanted a chilled week away. We booked all inclusive as it’s easier for us. Firstly I want to say the roof top bar was lovely, it was chilled, the hot tubs that are a nice temperature as it was cloudy most of our holiday, the music was good although it was clearly the same CD each day but still nice and the drinks upstairs were great. The downside, the hotel was dead, about 10 people each day at breakfast lunch and dinner, the food was absolutely awful, we did raise this and they said we were the only ones who have done. We definitely cannot be. The food was also the same every day. Breakfast and dinner was in a big restaurant but lunch was in the pool bar so very minimal choice at all. We ended up eating out a few evenings just to have something nice. Throughout the holiday I felt the hotel was clean but behind the food in the restaurant my friend noticed loads of cockroaches and bugs. Luckily we were going home the following morning. It states it is near to the beach which granted it is BUT it’s not an easy walk at all, it’s either 125 steps or a really steep slope. There were no Little things like taking your case to the room etc, but when the cleaner “cleaned” the room they didn’t clean they just made the bed that was it. I definitely wont be returning.

Went to this hotel with my nan this is 15th time she’s been as she used to always come with my grandad that has sadly passed away, we came to this hotel so it could bring back lovely memories but it’s gone down hill massively, food is horrible the only thing I eat for a week was chips. staff aren’t interested in you unless your German, no entertainment, the hotels empty, there were probably about 15 people each day in the dining hall morning and dinner. cockroaches everywhere, it’s very dated, definetly not worth 4 stars. Also I’ll finish off by saying the staff need to learn English if they are dealing with English people because their English is very poor.

Myself and teenage daughter booked this hotel through a third party and were very pleasantly surprised. It was very quiet and empty which we loved (partly because she was studying for upcoming exams), only a few older visitors and quite a few solo German travellers, some of whom we became friends with. We loved the range & quality of food provided on the buffet, we did half board which was great. Our highlight had to be the new roof top terrace bar & jacuzzi! We spent a lot of time there; great views and nice place to relax. Only a short 5 minute walk downhill (good for the legs!) to the centre of Puerto Della Cruz and the Lago Martinez complex & bars/restaurants. If you want a hotel to stay in the whole time or with lots of entertainment, it wouldn’t suit, but if you want to have a balance of hotel and town experience and a great base to be in, then I would fully recommend & we would go back tomorrow! I went for morning runs down the coast and used the wee gym a few times: even if it was quite basic. My daughter and I enjoyed getting dressed up and going for ice creams, karaoke & drinks in the town :). There was a professional photographer there on the night we arrived who took a beautiful picture and made us a souvenir magazine for breakfast the next morning. (See pics). There in a mini market, tourist booking place and tapas bar right underneath! We went on a few trips down south of the island for great value. Big shout out to the staff across the hotel who were all very accommodating & kind, especially Yapci!

Hotel and rooms were in good condition. Food was really good. Ad says that rooms have airconditioning. This is not accurate because rooms dont have cooling so prepare to sweat.
