I would give this hotel a 4.5* rating, though I've marked it as 5*. These are minor issues that can be easily resolved. Despite this, we would definitely return! We visited this beautiful hotel earlier this month for our first trip as a family of four, with a two-year-old and a three-month-old. The hotel itself is stunning. The pools are well-maintained and there are plenty to choose from. We mainly used the family pool since the main pool was always crowded, making it hard to find a sunbed unless you woke up and put towels down very early. The rooms were spacious and the staff promptly provided two cots as we had requested. The food selection was excellent. Having stayed at several amazing hotels worldwide, including Ikos resorts, I can say this hotel holds its own, whilst not quite on the same level it’s definitely lovely. I highly recommend the all-inclusive package, as costs can add up otherwise. We stayed for five nights and had two à la carte meals included, but only used one due to difficulty booking. We dined at Nami, the pan-Asian restaurant, where the food and service were exceptional, thanks to Isabel and Robert, who made it memorable for our eldest child. Regarding some of the negative reviews, I suggest ignoring them. This hotel is wonderful for families and reasonably priced. If you seek perfection, you might need to pay a premium elsewhere, but this is an ideal getaway. A few points that could elevate the experience from 4.5 to 5 stars: - We were assured that the pirate pool and a new splash park would be open upon our arrival. While the pirate pool was open, construction work behind for the splash park that was no where near done made it loud and dusty, which was disappointing for our toddler. - Though not the hotel's fault, the flies, particularly in the buffet restaurant, were quite bothersome, likely due to nearby banana plantations. Something to help this would be needed! - The bars open at 10:30 or 11, which can be inconvenient if you need water early. Once, the Oasis bar staff were rude when I arrived a few minutes after the ice cream station closed. Despite seeing me with an upset two-year-old, they refused service, which was disappointing. I do understand it was a few minutes passed but it had not been packed up yet and seemed a little petty. - Again, not the hotel's fault, but the Mexican restaurant, Agave, was closed due to a fire, limiting lunch options. This wasn't communicated to us beforehand or even at check in. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. The hotel felt grand, though some areas were slightly worn. The sun loungers could use an upgrade, maybe some cushions, but the cleanliness and overall experience made it the perfect getaway!
