This was our second time staying and the first time was awesome!
This time was the complete opposite unfortunately. We checked in and in the room the floor has candy wrappers on it from the guest before so it was not cleaned properly. I went to the front desk and asked for them to re clean the room. They made the bed and emptied one trash can leaving the same trash on the floor again. In addition to this the conditioner was empty in the shower and only one set of towels was left but it was documented there was two travelers. I stopped by the desk again to make them aware of the issues and the guy stated oh no, will you be here in the AM? We can give you one complimentary breakfast. No offer to clean the room while we were gone to dinner or fix the issues that had been brought to their attention twice. When paying over $600 for two nights you should have a clean room!!

I was fine with the construction taking place to improve the property, but the service proved to be my biggest challenge. The check in was delayed by more than 2 hours and I still have a security deposit hold on my account. It’s Thursday and I checked out on Sunday! The location is great but again the service leaves plenty to be desired!

Room was not ready at 5:00pm. Staff said would receive a call when the room was ready. I called at 7:35pm and they stated the room was ready and they tried to call me. I had no missed calls from the hotel. The area around the hotel seems sketchy. Only positive was the water view from the room.

Saving Grace was Chante and her team from the restaurant. Other than that the rest of the staff were unfriendly and the beds and pillows terrible.

The AC didn’t work for hours it was super hard to sleep, and we tried calling about it and were told it seemed to be an issue with the building. The breakfast was not even comped after being in the heat for hours, that cost $50 for two of us….just expected more.

The customer service at the hotel was excellent. The room was lovely and has a beautiful view of the river. They do have some construction going on around the hotel, but it wasn’t a problem. I would definitely stay here again!

The property is under some renovations but it does not affect your stay. Absolutely beautiful views from our room. We took a water taxi from Portsmouth to Norfolk. Many restaurant options that are walkable. Room was clean and just great for our two-day stay. Would absolutely stay again. Felt safe and the hotel staff was friendly, helpful and very approachable!

My stay was great . Only issue I had was I had to wait an hour for my room but I was upgraded so my overall stay was a 9/10. Definitely will stay again.
