YHA Port Eynon

Costs more than average hostels in my experience but it is very worth it for the location for the beach and hiking. Nice amenities overall but a bit low on power outlets

What a brilliant location! Lovely hostel, brilliant views from the lounge/diner. The self cater kitchen is very well organised. Staff were lovely and really helpful. We were in room 7 - a compact but comfortable 2 bed room. Shared bathroom facilities clean, tidy and practical. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.

The location can't be beaten, and the facilities are good. If you're looking for the high life give it a miss, but for peace, quiet and communing with nature this is the place. This was my first solo trip as a widow and I felt safe and secure. The staff are friendly and approachable. Breakfast and evening meals on the slipway watching the sunrise and sunset was magical. I enjoyed swimming off the sandy part of the beach, and saw a lot of the local wildlife including lizards and bats. A great introduction to my new single life.

YHA Port Eynon is a treasure hidden in plain site on the sea front of the beautiful Gower countryside, with no hotel blocks, amusement arcades and the like despoiling the area. It is very well run by friendly, welcoming hosts, who have literally thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. If you like simplicity and good company, and your only requirements are clean toilets and showers, a well-equipped kitchen and clean, comfortable beds, you will not be disappointed. Step out of the door and there are wooden tables and benches to sit and gaze at the waves as you eat your breakfast and plan your day. At day’s end let the distant roar of the waves lull you to sleep.

An amazing hostel for a seaside break with our little 3 year old. Right on the beach so we could be completely immersed from breakfast through to bedtime. Breakfast overlooking the water, picnics on the sand, amazing short walks to explore from the hostel. We felt so welcome and comfortable and everything is spotless. We can’t wait to come back.

I love this place. It is a simple hostel, no meals provided, with the only access by foot, though you can get a car to within a 100 metres if need be. The location, on the Gower peninsula in South Wales, is exceptional, with magnificent views across the bay from this former lifeboat station. The manager is very helpful & welcoming, the Gower Peninsula is a wonder.

This hostel is up there as one of the best places i've ever stayed at. The location is stunning (closest i've ever stayed to a beach!) and the hostel itself was spotlessly clean and welcoming. I'll be back again very soon!

Fab hostel. Fab staff. A a, ING location. Highly recommended. Unhesitatingly recommend the Port Eynon as it represents wonderful value for money - and is a superb place to relax and simply soak up the sun.

We just returned from a half term break at Port Eynon YHA, with our two young children. The place is perfectly located, literally a stone's throw from the sea, and the kids were delighted with being actually on the beach. The staff were really helpful and friendly, going above and beyond, and the facilities were basic, but fine - clean and sufficient. Helpful to have a good sized dining / sitting area with the kitchen coming off it, so we could keep an eye on the kids while we made dinner. Small negatives are that the wifi reception is really patchy (tricky for electronic devices) - though amazingly the baby monitors worked and had reception. Also there are insufficient power points in the rooms (a common YHA problem I think!), and the parking is a bit tricky - is 100m or so away, down a narrow beach side lane. But other than these small issues, just a perfect location, and one we'll be returning to.
