We booked this beautifully stylish duplex (two floor) apartment on the spur of the moment. Whilst we've been to France many times, apart from a few stopovers, we've never stayed in Brittany, nor on the beautiful Brittany coast. We had a fantastic time here. Pornichet to La Baule has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the World. Ker Juliette is a hotel, plus apartments set in beautifully wooded grounds. It has a restaurant (check opening times out of season) and a beautiful pool. The pool is clean with copious amounts of loungers and parasols. It's also on an electronic entry lock which stops randoms from using the facility. What is particularly amazing is how much of a sun trap it is. We had decent weather, 22/23degC most days, but on a few there was Force 6 winds. That was the issue with the beach even though we have a beach tent, it still wasn't very nice on the beach. However, lounging by the pool was superb. The high conifers surrounding the pool break the wind so well, that there isn't even a breeze! That might be an issue when the temperature goes past 28degC. The reception staff, Zoe, in particular, were beyond helpful. Yes, despite 10 years of French from 6 to 16, and multiple ex-girlfriends who spoke French, my French was sadly lacking. However, Zoe was patient, and her English was certainly better than my French. Nothing was too much trouble for Zoe and her colleagues. Excellent customer service makes or breaks a holiday and Ker Juliette is top class. The maintenance man came to show us how to use the remote control for the Velux windows in the bedroom. He was so polite and helpful and mindful to take his shoes off before going upstairs. The apartment itself, has a nautical theme, which is appropriate due to the history of the area. There are pictures on the walls of sailing ships, the colour ways remind you of the sea and there's even an amazing lamp on a nautical tripod. The apartment is only 38m. sq. which is small. There's the loo, kitchenette, living room and small bunk-bed room downstairs, with access to the terrace/balcony. Upstairs is the bathroom with the main bedroom. Hôtel à fuir. Nous sommes arrivé à la réception à 15h, prise de chambre. Nous sommes rentrés dans une chambre mal odorante, vétuste, avec une terrasse semi inondé. Concernant la propreté, trace dans la cuvette des WC, moisissure sur tout les angles de mur de la salle de bain, poil et autre sous l’évier et dans les recoins. Nous avons pas été très courageux, nous avons arrêter l’aventure dès l’entrée. Quand nous avons expliqué cela à l'accueil, il nous on dit qu’il était un simple 3 étoile. Sans excuse ni explication. Nous sommes partie.

Un accueil désastreux et hautain. Le parking est toujours ouvert malgré un digicode. Il est sous dimensionné et les places sont prises par des personnes extérieures au domaine de Kerjuliette. Si besoin de vélo, évitez la réservation sur le domaine !!! Aucun accompagnement de la part de la direction en cas d'aléas. Voyageant pour le travail, le petit déjeuner n'est pas accessible avant 7h30 et aucun remboursement n'est prévu. Tous les équipements de l'hôtel sont vétustes et datent du siècle dernier : transats de piscine, canapés du hall d'accueil... La restauration est lunaire. 1h pour manger un plat et une glace avec 7 clients en tout à servir pour le déjeuner. Le ménage et l'entretien des chambres sont correctement réalisés et avec gentillesse de la part de l'équipe de nettoyage. Les chambres sont insonorisées mais l'équipement reste vieillot. En cas de départ plus tôt, aucun geste commercial n'est envisageable de la part de la direction !!! Voyageant régulièrement dans des hôtels de la région c'est la 1ère fois que je rencontre des professionnels aussi peu professionnels et serviables.
