Playa Paraíso

Stayed at Playa Paraiso for a conference with a group of people from the United States and multiple countries in South America. It was spectacular! We had a fantastic time, the accommodations were beautiful, everything felt new, and the Playa Paraiso staff was positively incredible. The property is beautiful. You gently meander through beautiful buildings, immaculate lawn care, and gardens to the pool then to the beach. There were plenty of places to sit and relax - whether loungers by the pool or with friends near the snack bar or in Adirondack chairs on the beach or by the fire. It is also clearly in beautiful condition and good repair, even considering its proximity to the water and elements. We utilized the large conference room above the restaurant and had all of the amenities there that we needed - clean bathrooms, great temperature control, excellent AV systems, even automated blinds to adjust as the sunset. The staff did a phenomenal job of keeping us stocked with water, tea & coffee, and light snacks. One day they served us a traditional Ecuadorian snack and juice blend in the restaurant below. My first floor room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. In all fairness, there was a hint of a mildew smell in the room and you could see a bit of water damage on the wall near the shower, but it appeared that it had been recently remediated and was in no way overwhelming. This light mildew smell/visible water damage was the only negative I had in the room and really for the entire facility. There was internet throughout the entire space, but it distinctly worked best in the public spaces. I often parked in the outdoor dining area and had perfect internet connection for international phone calls, video calls, and my work load. The internet in the room was fine, except for times that everyone was in their rooms - usually early in the morning or later in the evening. We ate all of our meals in the large covered outdoor dining area and were served buffet style. The chef was incredible - the food options were all amazing. There wasn't a single miss and there were so many options! If you didn't like the main dish, there were several additional main dishes and a plethora of sides to choose from. I did not go hungry for a single meal. The staff is what set Playa Paraiso apart. They all hustle! There was always someone around to meet your every need. At meal times, you could barely carry your own plate to your table. No sooner would your cup reach half full that someone was coming around to refill your drink. No sooner were your finished your last bite then someone would whisk your dirty dish away. As soon as the meal was over, a small army of people would come and turn over the whole space and nearly as soon as you blinked the whole area was clean. This service was replicated everywhere you turned. As a result, we felt like royalty. Playa paraíso ofrece su estadía con 3 comidas incluidas: cena, desayuno y almuerzo. Aunque la atención de la mayoría de meseros es buena, se nota que no tienen una buena comunicación y dosificación de la comida. La primera noche (sábado) se servía la cena desde las 20h30 hasta las 22h00 tipo buffet asistido. A las 20h50 empecé a hacer la fila para que me sirvan el plato y cuando finalmente llego, todas las proteínas de habían acabado, quedaba poco arroz, poca menestra, prácticamente las sobras de lo que habían servido. Sin embargo, veíamos que a los comensales anteriores les servían doble. El desayuno, estuve 08h00 en punto pero empezaron a servir 08h15. Desconozco si hubo huéspedes sin comer. Pero el almuerzo fue la misma historia, abrían el buffet a las 13h00 hasta las 15h00. Como me dividí con mi familia en turnos, me acerqué a las 13h45 a comer y ya no había nada de comida. En resumen, no cumplen con lo que ofrecen. Y si lo ofrecen, deben asegurar una estrategia que les permita cumplir con todos los huéspedes. Además la atención vía WhatsApp es pésima. La información es pobre y tardan en responder. Apena mucho porque el lugar es bonito y apto para familias. Cuando realicé mi queja a la persona del hotel, aparentemente no tenía injerencia en nada y solo me quiso ofrecer "un coctel de cortesía" lo cual no se compara ni compensa para nada el mal rato que pasamos no solo mi familia sino algunas personas que se quedaron sin comer. No volvería.
