Hotel Caserio

Probably the 4th time of going to this hotel now since before lockdown and have to say the standards are still as high as ever. The location is great, decor and rooms are modern with the hotel extremely clean and tidy. The pool area has several options from sunbeds to cabanas, all of which are free. The food is excellent with the choices creative, fresh, well stocked and caters for all tastes. The staff throughout the hotel are all helpful and friendly and can't do enough to make your stay perfect. Have seen some comments about the €100 security deposit and I don't have a problem with this as the reason is made clear to you at the time of check-in, but it's worth being aware of before booking. Previously the lifts were a problem - there were only two that got very busy during meal times. These have been upgraded but there are still only two, so I try to now ask for a room on a low floor to avoid the queues! Overall, a fantastic location and holiday and we will be returning again - thank you!

Hotel very good and clean,staff also very good brilliant location near shops restaurants bars, and bus stops hotel bar prices good a pint of local beer was 3 .70 euros so no rip off. Pool is good and a jacuzzi on the roof.Entertainment on each night.Plenty of food but not always hot,though a lot of choices. Would go again

This was our 3rd visit to the hotel and enjoyed our stay once again , The hotel is clean ,comfortable and the staff are pleasant and helpful .Our room was kept very clean and the food had a great variety and both breakfast and dinner was very good .Alex in the Restaurant looked after all the guests and staff were very attentive . We hope to return soon for another visit.

If I could give no stars for this hotel I would. This hotel has caused me nothing but stress and anxiety, I have stayed in many different hotels around Gran Canaria and always loved the experience so it is such a shame that I have left feeling like this after being so excited for this trip. I stayed in this hotel with my fiancé and another couple (were all in our 30s). On check in we were told we had to pay 150 euro per couple deposit which we were unaware of but complied with. On the last part of our holiday I was told by reception staff that they would be deducting some of the deposit due to a 'burn' on the balcony table. Confused about this I told them I hadn't seen a burn and went straight to the room to check. The table had a spec of what could have been dirt or a small smudge, after a wipe the table was immaculate. I took videos and pictures and went back downstairs to speak to the manager. The manager couldn't have been less interested after trying to show him the picture and insisting he come see the table he said they already have 'their own' picture of the table and that it would cost exactly 80 euros (half of the deposit) as his plain white Ikea looking tables were 'imported from Italy'. After spending the last part of our holiday frustrated and deflated it ruined the remainder of our holiday. On trying to check out the morning of our flight the hotel receptionist told us we needed to pay 80 euros in cash or debit card despite 150 euros still being held, why would they take a deposit and then want you to pay in cash or on a alternative card?? Doesn't make sense, we refused to pay and I told the receptionist we have proof that this is an unfounded additional charge and will dispute it back in England. The receptionist called the manager and they spoke in Spanish whilst we stood their being treat like criminals in front of the other guests. The whole experience was humiliating and I have no doubt from seeing the response from the other reviews on here that I will get the same defensive response from the hotel. Other negative's to the hotel - The hotel rooms are shabby and come with a strange smell at times, my fiancé literally said on the first day 'I think there's urine on the walls of the bathroom' after noticing yellow looking stains. Our friends room had black mould on the air vent and none of the air conditioning worked. - If your a younger guest you eat last, our first day at the hotel the four of us had been traveling after a 6am flight and missed breakfast but decided to wait till our evening meal at 6pm. Arriving to our evening meal we were told that we were not aloud to the 6pm meal as the 'older guests' eat first and could come back at 8pm, we were so exhausted and there was absolutely no leverage with this despite us paying the same as everyone else. - On the subject of food the food was a 2/10 like school dinners no flavour, just slop and the chef doing the eggs on a morning had a terrible attitude. - Pool was fr

Stayed at The Caserio 15.11.24 until 24.11.24. On arrival we walked into a clean fresh reception and were met by a friendly very competent reception staff who booked us in quickly and without any fuss. Our room(419) was clean, well maintained and ticked every box for us. Pool view, nice balcony, fridge, hairdryer, small fridge, safe deposit box(19 euros for our 10 day stay). Again the pool area is very clean, well maintained, with free towels available on request..and also never a problem getting sunbeds whatever time of the day. The gym was probably the best hotel gym I've ever seen. Didn't use the sauna or massage service available but sauna looked clean. The entertainment staff worked tirelessly to involve people in daily activities. The restaurant staff were great, food plentiful with loads of choice, really couldn't fault anything. The location is great for the beach, 2 minute walk away. Plenty of shops, restaurants if you fancy a change from hotel. 20 minute walk to Yumbo Centre(or max €5 taxi ride from hotel which reception staff will happily call for you. Did the road train which is located about 50 yards from hotel front doors, €6 per adult, less for ankle biters, kills an hour if weather dips a bit. Weather was great for November mid 20s and above. Couple of showers but nothing to spoil the mood. Check out wasn't until 1200hrs which was a bonus as no rushing to get cases packed after breakfast. The staff in all departments were fantastic, cleaning, waiting, bar staff, reception, etc etc. In summary in over 30 years of holidaying together the wife and I have never returned to a hotel for a second time as we like to see different places, we will break that rule and return to The Caserio next year without a shadow of a doubt.

Just back from 9 days at this hotel. Wow is all I can say, nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. We were on the 6th floor and had an amazing pool and sea view. Our room was modern with a very comfy huge bed, walk in shower which always had hot water, air con, fridge, double wardrobe and a roomy balcony. Massive choice at meal times, u would never go hungry. Pool area was lovely, always clean. The sunbeds are the most comfiest beds I have ever sunbathed on and 3 different types, all super comfy. Never been anywhere that I didn’t have to get up at 6am to reserve your sunbed, always spare loungers even if u came down at 1pm!! Towels supplied. All staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a lovely massage by the pool. The roof top terrace was amazing 2, never that busy and the jacuzzi was lovely with a gorgeous sea view. Only tiny thing was there are only 2 lifts and you sometimes had to wait a bit but that didn’t bother us. I will be definitely be visiting this hotel again, you won’t be disappointed.
