Apartamentos El Palmar

El Palmar is a quiet hotel, the surrounding area is quiet too. Although the beach and Dumas of Maspalomas are only a few minutes walk away. The Yumbo centre too, is just a short walk away. The staff are wonderful very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Next time will be our 3rd visit.

I have just returned from staying in this hotel whilst on a couples holiday. My boyfriend and I arrived late in the evening and were disappointed by our superior suite room. The room was dirty and poorly maintained due to the following issues: 1. Bin hadn’t been emptied from previous guests 2. Toilet seat had dirty marks on it 3. Shower tray was filthy 4. Drain in shower was blocked causing the shower tray to fill up with water quickly 5. Shower caddy extremely rusty 6. Bathroom ceiling had marks that looked like mould or cobwebs 7. Towels were discoloured 8. Towels were old and didn’t absorb water well 9. Bed linen and pillows were stained 10. Skirting boards had a thick layer of dust on top of them 11. Floor hadn’t been cleaned properly 12. Kitchen dishes were dirty 13. Every wall had scuff marks and were discoloured with finger prints etc 14. Walls were damaged with holes 15. Curtains were extremely frayed We reported the above to reception and someone came to empty the bin and a cleaner was sent in the morning to re-clean the room. However, all they did was mop the floors so the next day we were advised by reception to show the cleaner our concerns. She tried to argue that the shower tray was not dirty and that it was just the colour of it. However, we had cleaned a small section of the shower tray beforehand to prove that it was definitely dirty (see picture). She then walked off before we could explain any other issues and she returned to clean the shower tray (not very well). By this stage, we had had enough so we bought cleaning products and cleaned it ourselves. Whilst waiting to speak to the receptionist, we overheard other guests complaining that there were cockroaches in their kitchen- thankfully we didn’t experience this! The swimming pool was also poorly cleaned. For example, there was a huge clump of hair laying on top of the drain beside the children’s pool. I counted that it was there for 4 days before being removed. There was also a green residue around the adult’s pool. Other areas such as the elevators were also grubby and covered in fingerprints. The floor of the elevator was also soaking wet one day which caused me to slip. The superior suite room that we paid extra for was advertised as having “long hours of sunshine from your sun lounger”. However, this description was false as our balcony was in the shade all day (see photos). This is false advertising and a waste of our money as we would have opted for a standard room had we known this. Multiple times throughout the week, we would go to reception and no members of staff would be there. On the Saturday, we also needed to wait until 1400 to receive pool towels. When we did receive them, there were holes in them. The spa opening hours (1100-1900) were also inconvenient as most people were out enjoying the sun during these times. We booked in to use the spa one day and I was unable to access it via the female changing room as door was locked and wouldn’t open by sw

Lovely apartment we think the property would benefit from having a snack bar rather than the restaurant closing after breakfast is served. There are a lot of steps to get to the beach area so would not recommend for anyone with mobility problems.

Fantastic stay as always! Very friendly staff and lovely accommodation! This is my third say here and will most certainly be returning! It is a great location for the beach and also the shops and Yumbo Centre. Always have a great experience at El Palmer

The hotel was immaculate. Room was spot on. Area was central. 10 minutes walk to the Yumbo centre and the same to the beach. Staff very helpful and friendly. Pool spotless. Rooftop sun bathing with fantastic view. Maid service every day, great when you want the room clean but not when you want a lie in from the night before. Would recommend to anyone.looking forward to our return trip .

The apartments are very clean modern great location if anyone asked me where to stay in Playa del ingles I would highly recommend El palmar Fantastic views from the roof top terrace lovely pool area and the staff go above and beyond to help you.

Very good experience. The reception staff is friendly and professional. A little advice could be not giving ground floor apartments to smoker guests. It can be a bit annoying being forced to keep the balcony door shut because of the smoke coming up from heavy smokers. Apart this little detail, that could be improved, my experience was very good! I would love to return there soon. Thanks!

We have been coming to Play del ingles for 14 years and this was our Our first time at El Palmer. We arrived around 9.50 pm We were firstly impressed with the check in that was over and done within minutes with no photo copy this or that just a simple tick here sign there. Pay for the safe and directed to our room. Once inside our room we were impressed again with the size and cleanliness of the apartment. Kitchen was equipped with kettle, coffee maker, microwave cooker top, and enough utensils & crockery for our needs. Along with cupboards and a tall fridge with a freezer. Breakfast bar with 3 stools. Lounge area was comfortable with a corner settee, coffee table and a TV, (not that we used the TV) There was also a portable fan (that we used in the bedroom that made sleeping a lot more comfortable with the heat). leading to the Balcony, that was also good in size with two chairs and a table. We also had a sliding door cupboard in the hall way for extra storage. The bedroom was again spacious with double sliding door wardrobe with plenty of space. (could do with more coat hangers) and a window that gave the room a bright and airy feel about it. The roof terrace is easily accessible with the lift and to our pleasant surprise was a good size with numerous sun loungers’ tables and chairs a shower and toilet facilities that were very clean. This area is a fantastic view point over the sand dunes and surrounding area including the mountains. We spent a lot of time sunbathing in this area. Cleaners were brilliant, polite and thorough in their work. We had breakfast here one morning, and it was very good. A self-serve buffet offering everything you would want for a breakfast. Cheese, ham, cereals, rolls, croissants, pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, jams marmalade honey Nutella, full cooked breakfast, bacon sausage, egg, omelette, beans toast. Tea coffee fruit juice. So, plenty of choice. Again, this was clean inside and outside areas. Overall, we were glad we found this place, as we will be staying again. We have been to this area for many years and this is a little gem so close to everything playa has to offer.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at El Palmar in my junior suite. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the housekeeping crew do an outstanding job in keeping everything pristine Its location only a short 15 minute walk to the beach but far enough away from the noise of the Maspalomas shopping area was an ideal choice for me. Highly recommended!
