Hotel Don Miguel Playa

We recently stayed at the Don Miguel in March 2025. Pros: Staff were friendly and accommodating. Hotel was dated but very clean. Very close to airport. Quick transfer. Close to a Mercadona shop and beach. Although most shops were shut. Lot of variety for breakfast and good coffee machine. Cons: Overwhelming smell of fresh paint which we suspect was to cover damp. Very thin walls- can hear everything..... The air conditioning did not work the first night and it was like being in an ice hotel. However, this was very quickly resolved by staff the next day. Soil came out of the air conditioning unit throughout the stay. It will be assumed that you are German and you will be spoken to in German. If you go in the low season the food is served at the hotel across the road. It is very basic and gets quite repetitive as the days go on. Although not inedible. Tap water smelt of bleach and was brown. Pool was shut. We were warned not to overwhelm the balcony.

Easy Jet cancelled our flight whilst on the tarmac and couldn’t rebook us for 2 days so we had to find a hotel near the airport to bed down in. EJ will only cover a 3 star hotel so our choice was limited and consequently we ended up here. The hotel is very basic with outdated rooms and the thinest wallls you could ever imagine. That woukd be ok if the hotel had the right clientele. Sadly though it is occupied by mainly young German groups who are there to have a good time and boy don’t you know it !!.Unless you fit this demographic I would urge you not to book this hotel, in fact the whole resort seems to cater solely to German stags/hens and other party groups. Not my cup of tea and somewhere I would drive through and keep going !. Positives are polite reception staff and a better than expected free breakfast.

Stayed over Easter 2023. Hotel seemed full with mixture of British / German young people and families Food was good ; plenty to choose from : fresh fruit every day and enough to choose for evening meal. Pool not heated and was freezing . Yes walls are thin and can hear others but was relatively cheap ; couldn’t get 7 nights in a premier inn with no food for the amount we paid

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel around the second week of July 2022, we are both British and found that apart from maybe 2 or 3 other couples, we were the only British people in the hotel. This hotel was mainly for young germans on holiday, so expect big groups of young people. As we are younger ourselves (21 and 22) we didn't mind there being lots of younger people but we did not see many older people around the pool, but there was a few at breakfast. The facilities in this hotel are good, the pool is a good size and very clean, and the sun lounger area around the pool is also lovely. The pool bar is nice but we often found it was hard to actually find a member of staff around the bar (inside and outside) to serve us a drink as they seemed to wander around a bit? Also, everyday at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, there would be a big group of younger children come in to the hotel to swim in the pool which was quite annoying, as they took over the pool area for an hour and made a lot of noise. The rooms in this hotel are ideal for if you want a clean, standard stay and are not expecting luxury. My boyfriend enjoyed the view over the football court and tennis courts as he could sit in the evenings and watch the football. The rooms were spotless and cleaned regularly. The only annoying thing was that the hotel is quite noisy at night, we got woken up a few times by people coming back from nights out and shouting down the corridors/on the balcony's etc but as we are younger, we understood so did not complain! The location of the hotel is great, close to many small shops to buy water, snacks etc and only a 10 minute walk to the beach! We would really recommend Las Marvllas and El Patio if you want to eat outside of the hotel, they are both a 10 minute walk away and serve really, really good food and drinks for a normal price point! Food in the hotel was fine (we only had breakfast) but there was no variation everyday, and there isn't a massive selection to choose from, so by the 6th day of our holiday we were massively fed up with eating the same food every morning! We did order from the Snack menu once or twice but the food was not great, frozen pizzas and cold pasta for €7 seemed quite expensive. The drinks were good though. There isn't much of an atmosphere at this hotel, there was no entertainment when we stayed and we would come back to the hotel around 9pm and no one would be sat at the bar or anything which was a bit disappointing, as it meant we had to find places outside of the hotel all the time! All in all, this hotel is great for if you just want a standard, easy holiday which is what we wanted and we would return again!

Had an nice stay for 5 nights, experienced a very good professional staff, rooms were very clean just would like to point out below points: 1. Paid WiFi (which was my fault to do not check before booking - obviously solved by using data roaming which was in the end much cheaper option then hotel's rate). 2. Towels not changed as stated on hotels info (should have been every 2 days, however we had to ask for new towels on 4th day). 3. Dinner without any drinks at all including water unless you paid and dinner was the same all week long but I'd guess that is normal for 3* hotels. 4. Running cockroaches in basement on the way to dining area. So if I don't count these 4 points it was quite nice stay for 3* hotel. Area was nice, fairly close to the beach front (roughly 10 mins walk). Also would like to mention the fact that whole area was full of drunk unsocialised Germans. Not sure if they had some football season there but it was absolutely crazy what we have witnessed. Please expect everyone talking to you in German! This was my second and last stay in Mallorca as I didn't feel like in Mallorca this time as absolutely overpopulated by German's which I do believe is due to location being too close to Palma city as last time we stayed on the North East of Mallorca and that was different story.

BETTWANZEN ÜBERALL!!!!!! Katastrophe das ganze Hotel ist voll von Bettwanzen wir haben lauter Fotos und Videos gemacht und als wir das Personal drauf angesprochen haben wurde uns gesagt wir bekommen unser Geld nicht retour da sie die finanziellen Mittel dafür nicht besitzen und wir können ja eine neue Bettwäsche bekommen ...Überraschung in der frischen Bettwäsche krabbelten weitere Bettwanzen raus! Also sind in der Wäschekammer auch welche! An der Rezeption die Dame ist sehr unhöflich und überhaupt kein Service und meint sie sieht da kein großes Problem es seien ja „nur Bettwanzen“! ich habe eine ganze Nacht durchgemacht und und diskutieren müssen das man in dem Zimmer nicht mehr bleiben kann und das ich darauf bestehe in ein Bettwanzen freies Hotel zu gehen! Und wie ich ihr die Bettwanzen auf den Sofas in der Lobby und Chill Area gezeigt habe hat sie nur mit den Schultern gezuckt .. Schrecklich NIE WIEDER!!!! O Sterne!!!
