Warmly welcomed, we enjoyed a drink in the lounge amongst vinyl. That sets the ambience of Killiecrankie; a warm welcome, vinyl playing and relaxing drink. The vibe is being in your best pals, thumbing through their record collection and enjoying a drink as your busy life slows right down. Our room was an oasis of calm. Some cocktail ingredients are housemade and exclusive to Killiecrankie; marmalade gin brought me right back to my grandmothers, the Smoked Ume Spritz’s brought us back to the famous smoked lobster by Andrew Fairlie. The meal by Tom, a delight from start to finish, fuelled with quality, taste and imagination, better than some Michelin restaurants we’ve been. Tom’s friendliness and how chefs worked as a team throughout serving put that extra sparkle on the dishes. I’ve ordered the wines and sakes since. After dinner, Tom spoke with all. Matilda and Tom display a laid back ability to host guests whilst serving superior food and drinks. That’s a natural talent. Breakfast was a treat. Tom and Matilda run a fabulous House for their guests. Attention to food, drinks, service, conversation and décor is amazing. Staff are as knowledgeable and attentive.
