Where should I start....maybe by "Do not book your holiday here". A 4 star Superior, more like a 3 at a push. The hotel definetely does not feel like a 4 star. The Elevators are noisy and shaky, when available, also trying to fit 4 people in one of those is a struggle. The room was nice but that is all, not what you expect from a 4 star. We paid extra for the front sea view with a balcony, do not make that mistake and save your money, because in the moment you seat down in the balcony you will not be able to enjoy the view, you will find your view blocked by the frosted glass, you have to stand up if you want to enjoy the train tracks view from your balcony. We had breakfast, however, you will be better with a coffee and toast from one of the bars around the corner. You get cordial juice from the machines, if you want proper juice that would be an extra 2.50 euros, if you want waffles that would be an extra 2.50 euros, if you want machine coffee that would also be2.50 euros extra, and so on... Also I don't think the cook has seen a real sausage in his/her life, breakfast sausage, the ones they serve for breakfast are party or cocktail sausage. Never greated with a smile by the restaurant Maitre, she had a face on all the time, shouting at people and staff, a little like Matilda's teacher. Crack a smile! it wont hurt. Our room was just below the hotel signs, too bright at night and during the day you could see the horrible state of the corroded metal, with the hotel wall on each side needed a bit of paint or just a good clean. Warning to people going to enjoy the beach: buy some rubber shoes! there are so many stones, the front is so deep that you would not be able to stand. After 11 at night everything is closed in Pineda, hardly anything to do.

Myself and my partner stayed here for 4 nights 2nd-6th May. We arrived at around 21:30 to be told the food area was closed but they had put food in our room for us which we thought was a nice touch. How wrong we were. My partner bit into what looked like a chicken cutlet completely RAW. When we took it down to reception their response was ‘the chef was no longer working to cook anymore’ we obviously didn’t want anything more after that. We had booked all inclusive but to our surprise when we got there that did not mean everything (alcohol wise). There were two types of all inclusive bands. Premium meant you were limited to what drinks you can have. Gold you can have everything. We booked through love holidays and assumed all inclusive meant all inclusive. There was no option to upgrade to gold when we initially booked. Food was average, pretty much the same thing everyday & nothing could be taken outside of the dining room. Breakfast is from 7:30-10, although on the Pineda palace website it states that there is a roof top bar serving drinks & snacks from 10:30. This is false information as the rooftop bar is only open during peak times ‘June-September’ which meant having to go down 8 floors to the bottom floor to get drinks to have by the pool. Not great when only 1 lift was working. The pool area did not have any umbrellas and looks nothing like the photos online, a lot smaller in fact and very shallow. The room was advertised as an air conditioned room, that was not the case. The aircon was turned off throughout the hotel as it was not ‘hot enough’ for it to be on apparently, although the room was uncomfortably hot to sleep in. We went to reception to complain that they should not advertise the room as air conditioned if they turn the aircon off. Had we known all of this we probably wouldn’t have booked to stay here. On a brighter note, the rooms were clean & the bar staff & waiters/waitress were great. Drinks were generous. The hotel is across the road from a beautiful beach & has plenty of places around to eat/drink. Mala Pekora - Italian D tapeo - Tapas Indian Palace - Indian All within walking distance of the hotel and 100% recommend. The hotel also has a sauna area which you can book for an hour at a cost of €5pp. This was quite nice and relaxing.

How this ‘hotel’ is a 4 star is beyond me. It shouldn’t even be open. The food if you can even call it that was stone cold and tasteless. I asked the chef for a ham & cheese omelette, to my suprise her response was ‘we only make plain egg omelettes’. The chef then insisted if I bring her the ham (which was slimy) & cheese she will fulfil the basic request. The other ‘food’ on offer consisted of baked beans drowning in juice (clearly had been watered down), greasy bacon that was pure fat and burgers that were raw. Surely they can provide milk that was in date? Of course not. that was also off. I would expect at the very least from a ‘4 star hotel’ to have basic hygiene standards. This wasn’t the case as I found a number of black hairs in the bed (not my hair colour). The lifts were down for well over an hour, there was no stairs & the fire exit doors were jammed. In an emergency what do you expect your guests to do exactly? I hope there’s never a serious incident because there is no way to exit the hotel safely. It’s baffling how this hotel is aloud to operate when they can’t be bothered to prioritise the safety of their guests. The hotel must be unaware of what the meaning of all inclusive is. There were additional charges at every turn. After 11pm any drinks from the bar you were charged for. To top it off if you wanted fresh orange juice you would be expected to pay. I decided to have the diluted orange juice as it was free. When I pressed the button on the machine It wasn’t working, a member of staff informed me that you have to hit the machine in order for it to work. If that’s how your staff approach resolving problems then they should be retrained. Don’t expect any entertainment because there isn’t any. The person running this so called hotel should be ashamed, not only scamming people out of their hard earned money but not being able to meet the basic requirements for their guests. I would say the level of hospitality was poor but that’s an understatement. One positive was the lady behind the reception was helpful and polite, I’d suggest you give her some recognition. The other positive was leaving this hotel early, I believe that says it all.

Arrived at midday and warm welcome with room being ready. Hotel very clean, room clean if dated ( air conditioning awful, in need of a renewed system and they are not cleaning it every day from 9am-12 noon) It is an adult recommended hotel so of course expected a few children but for three different school groups of 20+ teenagers to be there at various days/nights was very unexpected and at times meant it was very unpleasant to be in the (very small) pool. Don’t get me wrong, I work in secondary school and the young people were well behaved but if a hotel is advertising itself as adult recommended as I say , you don’t expect school parties to be resident. The pool itself is a very shallow plunge pool, ideal to cool off in. Sun loungers in need of an upgrade as very uncomfortable. We were all inclusive and it was the worst offering we have ever had. Premium AI have a very limited drinks offering , if you are just after a beer or basic spirit then fine but if you are in to a drinking holiday worth upgrading to gold level. They did a daily cocktail of various amazing neon colours that made your eyes water but there was no choice of cocktail on the premium AI. They did lovely fresh cocktails but they cost €6 each on premium. As for the food - where do I start. Breakfast was fine, but lunch and dinner was the strangest we’ve ever had with very small individual portioned meats etc. The main issue though was there is no all inclusive food available from the pool bar, if you want anything of the daytime snacks you need to put your shorts etc on and go down 9 floors into the restaurant!! Just not what you want of you are there for a few days fly and flop. All in all a very average stay and would not return to this hotel.
