The New Inn

Absolute lovely village and lovely location but not the best experience. Room 8 is very small and is in the eaves so it's a challenge not to bang your head, especially in the bathroom where you can only fully stand at the sink. Sheets were crisp and clean but the only nice thing was opening the sky light window and pulling the 45 degree curtains aside to watch the stars whilst listening to room 9's TV and room 7's snoring through the paper thin walls. Food was average pub food, but bar service was something else, very weird (rude) and silent atmosphere at the bar which I think other people have also mentioned. Breakfast staff were great but would not stay at this inn again 😕

We had a great meal here. The pies are homemade and deep filled. The service was great and the staff were friendly and helpful when we turned up without a booking. They seated us straight away and we were eating 20 minutes later. The prices are reasonable and the menu has something for everyone. We enjoyed it so much, we booked for Sunday lunch.

booked in at the new inn for three nights but only stop one . the room felt damp and smelly the tv was not working. will not go back. so we had to look for another place to stay but all fully booked.so we had three hours in whitby and drove back home .will not return to the new inn.

Delicious home cooked food and warm, friendly service. The Yorkshire pudding wraps were so tasty with proper gravy. We asked if they had some curry sauce, which was not on the menu - no problem at all, the chef made some especially and it was sublime. Thank you so much we can’t wait for our next visit.

Had a gorgeous Boxing Day lunch with my family. Cosy pub with homely food - they served huge portions of pie with a mountain of fresh vegetables. They serve great ales and have lovely friendly staff. The scenery is beautiful - what more could you want? Highly recommend

Nestled in such a lovely village area, the food here was good and the Breakfast was divine. The rooms were cosy, clean and comfortable. Check-in was a little unfriendly and informal unfortunately but the staff generally were very friendly. We shall be back!
