Habitation Saint Charles - Hôtel de Charme & Spa

Really beautiful hotel with a nice pool area. We booked a double room, it was simple and clean. The bathroom is beautiful. There are a lot of free parking spots and I would recommend a car, to explore the stunning gems in the area. The hotel has a small breakfast buffet which was delicious. The location is perfect to explore the island. I would recommend booking a room with a private pool.

Our group had a wonderful time and experience in Guadeloupe and had a wonderful time staying at Habitation Saint Charles. We stayed for a week between 2 rooms, and 6-7 adults. We are seasoned travelers with no expectations of being catered to as Americans. We had dinner 5 nights at the hotel, and 2 at a local Pizza place called Ton Ton. Thursday-Saturday nights have what we called a "fancier" menu. As a group we tried mostly all items on the menu, and they were all fabulous. Cooked perfectly as requested, the sides were wonderful, and the waiters were excellent. Christophe and JonahEl took care of us at different times, and we felt very comfortable dining. Sunday-Wednesday has a more semi-formal menu, with a Burger that I thought was very good. The rooms themselves were excellent. Beds were made each day, with an obvious tidying of the place. The air conditioners in each bedroom worked very well. The Hot Water is on solar power so it is a bit intermittent. Being the last of 4 to shower one night was brutal, but didn't impact the stay. The pool was lovely, and the local cat on the property was very friendly and petable! The variety of breakfast each morning was exquisite. Parking was Ample. The location in our opinion was perfect. It's a 30 minute drive to Boullainte where we spent a lot of time. It's about the same to Baie-Mahault where we took a boat tour, Le Gosier night market where we spent an evening, and about 50 minutes to Trois-Riveries where we departed and returned to on a day trip to Les Saintes. Bertrand the owner offered suggestions and was very helpful. The front desk agent Mida was exceptional as well. As Americans that spoke very very little French (we tried), we found it easy to communicate on the island. Not many spoke good english, not many understood our english, but we were able to accomplish all things. Spending a couple months on DuoLingo helped tremendously.

Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel pour 3 nuits du 11 au 14/12/24 avec ma femme dans la chambre 8 "La Dominique". L'hôtel est idealement situé pour visiter basse terre, au debut de la route de la traversée. Cadre plutôt agréable dans un petit jardin tropical joliment décoré. Neanmoins, concernant les prestations 4 étoiles, les finitions et le service dans sa globalité, ne sont pas au rendez-vous... Apres avoir séjourné dans deux hôtels 4 etoiles sur grande terre, nous sommes loins du meme standing. Apres notre première nuit nous avons été réveillé par le chantier à 7h du matin au marteau piqueur et tout autres bruits de chantier... le bruit est egalement présent au petit déjeuner sur la terrasse extérieur... reponse du personnel c'est comme ça en Guadeloupe... 250 euros la nuit, petit dejeuner compris, difficile à dirriger le marteau piqueur toute la journée... Si nous avions été informé en amont de notre réservation des travaux, il est sûr que nous aurions passé notre chemin. Attention la vue des balcons en chambres donne egalement sur les travaux. A notre grande stupéfaction, des avis concernant ces travaux date d'un ans et toujours pas de prise de conscience de la direction de l'hôtel. A part repondre que les travaux démarre à 8h...cr qui est absolument faux et à ce prix même à 8h il faut oublié ou adapter les prix et en informer la clientèle! Petit dejeuner moyen, rien de plus. Le personnel mitigé soit très bien, soit peu professionnel. Concernant la chambre, elle est spacieuse et agréable, malgré une salle de douche petite à notre goût. Bref, si vous cherché un 4 étoiles avec des finitions de premier choix et un service à la hauteur, il y a vraiment braucoup mieux pour le même prix sur l'île.
