Papouis Protaras Hotel ex smartline Protaras

We booked to stay at this hotel as the website as an all inclusive resort with Kids club. We arrived early hours of Monday morning and the reception staff were very accommodating allowing us to check in to our room early as we had to very tired children. Breakfast if definitely the best part of the all inclusive meals. Items stocked aplenty however some items were cold if you went for breakfast past 8:00am as some hot plate lids were left open causing the food to go cold. Plenty of cocktails / wines / beers and spirits to choose from. One thing that let's this hotel down is not providing pool side snacks during the day. Snack time is in the restaurant from 11-12 with only the kids buffet open - fish fingers / nuggets / chips. Also ice Creams are only available at dinner time so if you have kids that want non stop ice Creams all day maybe other hotels we be more suitable. The kids club was not open as far as I am aware. There is an entertainer that runs poolside competitions / Darts / Pool / Ping Pong etc but it's not your standard Kids Club perse so again if you expect to ship the kids off for a few hours this hotel may be not for you. The rooms are modern / clean and spacious and have a small balcony which you can sit out at. Staff - We could not fault very attentative and smiling and always willing to help which is great to see. All in all we have enjoyed the hotel and just a few small tweaks will improve the experience no end. There are also a number of bars and local restaurants close by both Tipsy O'Turtle and Majitio ard well worth a visit.

Booked through Love Holidays On arrival at our hotel after a very long day of travelling and feeling very tired we checked in to our hotel the Papouis hotel in Protaras about 1030pm. I asked about something to eat but was told it was too late. I thought hotels catered for late arrival visitors? We were given our room and on arrival of our room there was a double bed instead of a twin as we had requested as we were travelling friends not a couple. We went back to reception and the man said get a drink and come back in 20 mins. A drink is not what we wanted but we went and got one to sit and wait. Sometime later, I then returned to reception and asked about the room. The man said he couldn’t find one and would we sleep in a double bed for one night. I said absolutely not. He was on his mobile phone and I kept asking about a room. Eventually he said come with me and he took me to a room that had twin beds in. He said is this ok and I said yes as it has twin beds. We then had to move all our luggage to our new room. Once in our room we tried to open the balcony door. No matter what we did it was jammed shut. My friend then went back to reception and the man said he would get the maintenance man in the morning to have a look. Back in the room again we tried the TV again there was an issue as it did not work. I checked and the plug was two pin and the socked was three pin. Again off to reception and was given an adapter. The TV would still not work and again went to reception and was told a maintenance man would come in the morning. By now it was 1130pm and we were very tired. As we came back in the room again and looked up to a hole in the ceiling. By now we were so tired it was just another thing gone wrong for us. In the morning at around 7.30am we could hear maintenance work being done - some sort of drilling. It was very loud and not what you need in the morning. The building works continued around the pool area and was so noisy it was awful. We lost water in the room as well. There was no entertainment no sauna no gym and if you book a massage be prepared to listen to building works. Only plus side. The staff were nice. The rooms were basic but ok when everything worked. So many people complained as please be aware the website is not the same as the hotel. Love Holidays offered us a measly £80 for us to close the case.

Such a great hotel. It's clean, friendly staff who work very hard, food was good lots to choose from and great gluten free choices. Food and drink starts early and goes on all through the day. The rooms have great aircon, greay wifi, lots of options for the TV in the rooms (the kids loved youtube) The hotel is close to beaches and just a short bus ride to other towns. I would 100% go back in the future.

Just returned home from a great holiday at Papouis Hotel. The Hotel has had a great, modern refurb. Tina the Ops Manager went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. The Entertainment team were fun and my little boy (4 years) loved Libby in the kids club. Minindisco, big pool, fun activities and an all around great family hotel. International Hotel, which was a lovely mix. Hotel Manager was so welcoming. Great location. I would definitely book again. Thank you :)

Staff were friendly and were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble Hotel was daily cleaned, our room was daily cleaned, clean towels daily, nothing to complain about Food temperature could have been hotter, but was edible and plenty of variety to meet all Evening cold savoury snacks would be an advantage, nuts, crisps etc as there's no shop at the hotel Pool area did get crowded and guests placing towels at 7am and left empty for hours

The hotel was clean and modern. The staff was really friendly and nice, especially the waiters were nice. The evening program was fun and the entertainers were very nice and polite. In addition the water polo games were really fun. the attractions were also close to the hotel. The food, the place and the friends were great, what else could you wish for from a vacation.
