Greek Bay

Don't let the images fool you. This is basically a group of compact, impersonal rooms—and is neither a hotel nor a resort. The location is reached by extremely small, gravel lanes. They welcome you with a cheap local soda at the reception, which is a simple open desk. At first glance, one is astonished by how little and simple the rooms are. The sheets were tattered, filthy, and odorous. The restaurant is a tiny open space covered by a tin roof. It's not even worth walking on the filthy beach that connects with the hotel. It forbids the usage of alcohol and does not serve it. The open-air restaurant's homely fare was its only saving grace. Steer clear of at all costs.

We stayed at the Greek Bay Pondicherry in the July 4th weekend for 4 days and really enjoyed our time there . The location is unbeatable due to direct access to the clean Auroville beach and the ambience of the place which gives a lot of Western European beach resort vibes . Also the staff is very friendly and food quite good as well . The pool with views of the sea was very enjoyable and overall this was a great experience !

The Hotel Greek Bay in Pondicherry is a literal hidden gem, a perfect getaway with family for a short trip. The cozy rooms are just right, featuring a large TV, a cozy bed and a sofa that transforms also into a comfortable bed. With extra blankets and pillows readily available, guests are ensured a restful sleep. The clean toilets with all amenities add to the comfort of the stay. There is clothes line too to dry swim clothes. We stayed in the duplex room, which was super comfortable and provided a unique Greek-style experience with its decor. Every corner of the hotel and the rooms is Instagram-friendly, making it perfect for capturing memories. The food served at the hotel is tasty with chefs accommodating any special requests. The morning breakfast spread offers a wide range of options, and the chefs are happy to prepare eggs and dosas of your choice upon request. The swimming pool is clean and inviting, while the easy access to the beach allows guests to catch the stunning sunrise if they manage to wake up early enough. Despite our inability to catch the sunrise, we enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep without any disturbances from mosquitoes. The beach near Hotel Greek Bay is slightly rough, requiring a bit of caution, especially for families with children. However, the abundance of shells ***** the shoreline provides a perfect opportunity for a fun adventure, collecting them for arts and crafts projects back home. Overall, our stay at the Hotel Greek Bay was delightful, thanks to its cozy rooms, tasty food, friendly staff, and convenient amenities. It's a place where luxury meets comfort, making it a top choice for anyone visiting Pondicherry.

Excellent! Clean, friendly and nothing too much trouble. Stayed in #109 which is a detached cottage right on the front line next to the pool. Great balcony for relaxing and sea views. A special "thank you" to the restaurant team who prepared 2 Nepalise dishes for us: Hari (chef), Abishek (cook) and Jeevan (service). The meal was fantastic. A short walk to small shops and restaurants and an easy trip into Pondicherry.
