The Mandana Villa Gili Air

Unfortunately do not recommend this hotel - We booked 5 nights here for 4 people and it became clear quickly that the hotel does not match its online description. I’m not sure how it has managed such good reviews on here. It is very run down compared to the photos online, and requires a lot of maintenance. The rooms are very dated. The private pool which we payed extra for is next to the toilet (not shown in pictures) and has a film of dead mosquitoes over the top of the water. However the bigger problem is that there are large gaps between doors and the outside bathroom allowing in bugs, mosquitoes, lizards. There are no mosquito nets so we were waking up covered in bites with lizards on the walls. One evening a mouse/rat ran from the bathroom into the room. At this point we explained to the hotel we were uncomfortable and wanted to move hotels, and we wanted to cancel the remaining 3 nights stay for a refund. They refused and have readvertised the rooms while still charging us £600 for those nights. It is a shame because initially the customer service was amazing. We tried to persevere as we have travelled Asia for many months now, and stayed in lots of hotels and AirBnBs, but unfortunately it isn’t acceptable especially for the premium price of £100 a night (which is very expensive for the island). We have had to pay for this accommodation plus another hotel on the island.
