Magpie the Chestnut Retreat

Such a painful experience... we walked in after 11.5 hrs of journey but inspite of informing them the food preference on phone, no preparations have been done..room floors are so slippery that kids oftenly fell down.. food was the worst ( dal was more like lentil soup) service was pathetic took them more than 45 min just to serve a single portion of naan and staff was unprofessional and not at all supportive, especially the Sam & Vishnu who were rude beyond belief, on duty manager Urisha, was more interested in giving excuses than to try to solve any problem, they don't even have ice cubes , the lights in the room are not able to turn off without some finiky manuers, and their creative solution to that was to suggest to turn off the main switch ( leaving you without the ability to charge our devices and to go outside the room every time you need a litle light in night, like visiting the bathroom), without even bothering to check for issues, the wifi doesn't work beyond the reception & restaurant area, cats and other pests are rampant.

We had a wonderful stay at Magpie Chestnut. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Manager Mr Uddeshya and all staff were friendly and always ready to help. The location was perfect, close to many attractions. Food was delicious with many choices. We felt very welcomed and will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended. 🙂

Location is awesome, food best , staff very cooperative and very humble. Rooms are very clean, nit and pleasant.anybody going to pelling can blindly consider and book this resort.found all the amenities,more than my expectations. It was pleasure staying here.

Very good Property with very courteous & well behaved staff. Udeshya Gurung the property manager is ready to help you round the clock. Bonfire arrangements can be made at the property & the alpine forest around the rooms is ideal for nature lovers.

Hotel services and staff was great. Room was very clean and neat. Food was also amazing. Property location was the best part and it wad well maintained as well. When we arrived at the property they welcomed us with nice gesture and told us everything they had with them.

Excellent location with amazing view of mountains, Very good stay - both accommodation and food. The staff at front desk reception and restaurant are welcoming and helpful. The night view of this place awesome and the morning is fulfilled with amazing view of Kanchendzonga (or part of it).

Very nicely maintained property with affordable good food! One can feel relaxed while enjoying the scenic beauty of Kanchenjunga. Parking is just near the entrance which makes it approachable. Mr. Gurung is very good with Hospitality. Overall nice experience.

The resort is awesome.. Very quiet and calm.. Rooms are good and the service and food is excellent... Food is so delicious.. The property Manager Udeshya Gurung was very polite and always ready to help with a smile... The resort is away from hustle bustle... Loved the place....

Amazing property with a great view. We stayed here for 2 nights with family (cottage room) and loved everything - the manager Udeshya was very professional, the food was delicious and the entire staff was very courteous and helpful. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable.
