Disclaimer: Lifetime Elite Member — I've been fortunate to experience exceptional service at many properties, so I'm a bit spoiled. The Excellent: As a newer build, this hotel is impressively clean throughout. The décor is minimalist with an understated elegance, though ( based on my European travels) I’m not sure how it qualifies as having a “European feel” — that seemed more like a self-styled label. The location is excellent, with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and major freeways (though in true L.A. fashion, expect to park on them during peak hours). The rooftop bar is a standout, especially at night. While the views aren’t particularly remarkable, the ambiance more than makes up for it. The Good: Rooms are spacious with a minimalist design — platform bed, wall-mounted nightstands, and a long upholstered bench for luggage. Ours included a sofa bed and a compact refrigerator, along with adequate storage for a short stay. The king bed was comfortable, and the large TV was a nice touch. Each floor features a "Hydration Station" for filling water, though it's oddly concealed behind a cabinet — not exactly intuitive. The Not-So-Good: Towels were rough, and for two guests we were provided just one hand towel and one washcloth. There was no additional blanket, just a very thin quilt that felt more like a mattress pad. Trash left near the doorway of a nearby room wasn’t removed throughout our three-day stay. The wall-mounted nightstand lights were bright and awkwardly positioned — more like train headlights than reading lamps. The Disappointing: Noise from the floor above was a major downside — we could hear every step. Valet parking was $40, but our car was left uncovered just 20 steps from the hotel entrance. Not worth the charge. The so-called “European breakfast” was underwhelming, offering less variety than the complimentary breakfasts many properties provide to elite members — save for the addition of prosciutto. Honestly, you're better off crossing the street to Urth Caffé. The minimalist design, from the vinyl flooring to the scratchy linens, gave off a cost-cutting impression rather than a luxury feel. As a Lifetime Elite member, I’ve come to expect a certain level of acknowledgment and service. I opted for points instead of breakfast this time — a decision I don’t regret, though in the past I’ve often received complimentary breakfast or parking regardless of that choice. When I asked about benefits, I was curtly told, “You chose points, so that’s what you get — but there are two water bottles in the room.” At no point did I feel like a valued guest. Will I return? Maybe — but only for the location.
