El Mexicali Motel

Great place to stay, very tidy and clean. Highly recommended. Close to town, off the highway. Pool included, and the price wasn’t expensive. Good people to deal with, the power went out when I was there , though the staff were straight onto the problem to solve it.

Old el Mexican motel now changed names with new owner. Stayed 3 nights for volunteering job. Room freshly painted and clean. Room size typical coun countrytry inn suitable for a couple. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Bathroom old but clean and functional. Needs a plumber to fix leaking basin taps (room 5). Under 10 minute walk to main street. RSL Club, McDonalds and KFC even closer. Pool clean and well maintained. Appears no staff on site. Key in room on arrival (late) and leave key in room on departure. Do not offer breakfast. This was an issue with no vehicle and relying on walking. Would have rated this motel higher except no person would service the room. Left the "Tidy Room" tag on outside door knob on 2nd day only to find it removed and put on chair. Interpreted this as saying they saw it but do not clean rooms. No note left. Others in my group also did not have thier rooms done either. Our large organisation has feedback processes on accomodation. I would not stay here with my family for more than 1 night due to lack of room cleaning.
