My Maison in Paris - Louvre

My family traveled to Paris on June 1st this year. My wife booked this hotel from June 1st to 5th. We arrived at the hotel at noon that day, an old lady opened the door for us to enter. Then she told us that the elevator could not go up to the 3rd floor, and that the luggage had to be placed on the 1st floor (equivalent to the second floor in the United States). The elevator was small and narrow, and could only accommodate one adult and a suitcase. At that time, our scheduled check-in time was 3 pm. I called to cancel at about 1 pm. But the operator who answered the phone refused to let us check out, saying that she had asked the waitress and the elevator was in good condition. I sent another email to explain the situation and asked to check out, but they just replied pretending to care about my knee injury, and then said that there was no problem with their elevator and carpet, and they did not agree to cancel my reservation for this hotel. In the end, I had to take a taxi to find another hotel. My knee hurt even more that night. The next day I asked a French doctor to prescribe medicine for me. I dragged my injured leg around to find a pharmacy to get the medicine (prescription picture), and then I had to take painkillers and drag my family to continue traveling with my injury. I don't know why such a bad hotel has such a high rating, and Chat GPT also recommends this hotel so much. If the rating has negative points, I would give this hotel -5 points for service and facilities.

Location: Pretty centralized and accessible. Access in/out of property: Great with the QR codes. Super easy to use. Comfort: Queen sized bed and pillows that are fairly comfortable. Convenience: Washer/dryer combo wasn’t working. They were kind enough to launder daily but left clothes damp for packing as they were not dried. We had to hang all our clothes all over the room. The clothes steamer also wasn’t working properly. No bar soap provided, just a shower gel. Communication: Delayed and emails always leave you wondering what’s gonna happen next.
