Montmartre is an absolute must-visit—full of charm and character—but it can get a bit overwhelming with all the tourists. That’s what makes Hotel Particulier such a hidden gem. Tucked away in the best part of the neighborhood, this exclusive spot feels like a secret escape from the crowds. The service was impeccable—warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The food was a delight: rich in flavor yet surprisingly light, with a fresh, natural taste that lingers in the best way. And the house itself? A total French dream. The interiors are straight out of a Parisian fairytale—elegant, timeless, and full of character.

Overall A experience: secret vintage home hotel, 5 rooms, delightful staff, and homey best hotel treatment of our several Paris hotel visits. Motown, jazz, punk, classical radio player, excellent $1K duck & pollack dinner, view of Eiffel tower, great customer & room service. Only thing we've learned is that the French don't do American cocktails well.

We have been here many times in the past and had 5 star experiences. This time, something was different. Seemed like they did not have enough support staff. Same great waiter, but he was stretched way too thin. Because of that, our experience seemed rushed and not nearly as pleasant as before. The location and surroundings are magical. I hope that this was a one time situation wrt service and that they get back on track!

What a special, unique hotel. Other than the sophisticated vibe, you would never know that you were in the middle of Paris. It’s a tranquil oasis. Our room was amazing down to every fun detail. It was so nice to sit in the garden with a glass of wine and a book. We loved the bar — from the roaming chickens to the cocktails. The food restaurant was good and is probably the one thing that could be a bit better.

This place should stick to its primary business = restaurant/bar in a beautiful setting. When arriving you have to figure out how to lug your luggage through a locked gate up 75 meters of rough cobblestone (no help offered or received until the last few meters through the yard). Check-in takes 20 minutes (when they can spare the time) and the supposed best suite is under the roof (access via a dangerous circular unlighted stairway - their website should discourage it for 65-plussers) and without air conditioning (supposedly present but non-functioning - reported three times with only lip service returned), warm (not hot) shower water with minimal pressure, no night stands by the bed, no phone found in the room so for any request you traipse down three floors in the hope to find someone to talk to. And then I have not mentioned the loud music from the bar clearly reverberated into the room well into the night. That said, dinner was excellent.

We had a drink then dinner. I have to admit it’s an hidden gem but overpriced for what you get! Not the best service and to be served sliced bread from a packet when in France this is mediocre. Napkins are paper ones and tiny, like a coaster (not exaggerating!) We managed to enjoy yourself but to have a dinner, 3 course meal for €100 each , this place is more for the instagrammable place to be but only for a drink. Some staff lack of professionalism! Ran out of dishes after 30 min serving the first customers. It wasn’t our day perhaps but if I had to go back it will only be to have a drink.

Amazing setting and friendly staff. Food was delicious with unusual combinations. It was a very memorable evening. The bar has a great vibe and the music is fabulous. This little gem is a must on any trip to Paris but try and go when it gets a bit warmer!

When we arrived, we were made to wait at least five minutes without anyone offering us a seat or taking our coats. Although we booked at the restaurant, we were shown down to the bar where we were the only ones eating. The bar atmosphere was great, but it was rather weird, and no explanation was given. We ordered fish and had to wait 45 minutes for it to be served, although there was no indication that it would take that long on the menu. No bread, olives, or anything small to nibble on was offered to us in the 45 minutes. The food, when it finally arrived, was delicious, and the waitress was extremely kind and apologetic, but the general service was not what one would expect considering the price. We were not hosted properly and were very late for our next appointment. When we left, there was no one to give us our coats, and we had to retrieve them ourselves from some cleaning cupboard. All in all, I am not going to recommend the bar or the restaurant of Hotel Particulier Montmartre.

A truly unique place. Come here every Paris visit at noon on Sunday. They are now serving a lovely Sunday brunch menu. Wonderful food, excellent service. It is in a secluded very private location, hidden behind a gate, must buzz in. Reservation mandatory.
