We loved Parga, but Enetiko put a damper on our holiday and is somewhere we will not return or recommend for the below reasons in particular: The climb: We had read the reviews and expected the steep hill, but not the stairs following these. Even as a fit young couple, it was trying on our legs after a fortnight. It was slippy when it rained too, and completely dark at night as it was not illuminated until near the top. On arrival, the hotel brought our suitcases up in a truck, but this was not the case on departure or any other time, when we were left to our own devices. Payment issues: Every time we ordered a drink we checked we could pay by card and were told the machine was down but getting fixed so our room tab grew. We tried to pay multiple times during our fortnight stay, and on the penultimate day, we were told only cash would be accepted. I could see the card machine plugged in (per the new greek law for POS), but they refused to even try our card. I had to withdraw Euros and pay the ATM charge as we'd only brought enough to cover the tourist tax and tips. Bit suspect and especially annoying as we were led to believe otherwise. 4 stars? Eco?: I had high hopes for the hotel based on the images and star rating, but the facilities and little touches let it down e.g. the tap in the pool toilets did not work, there was no water on arrival, the bathrooms were very dark, etc. The rooms were nice enough and equipped with air con, but nothing special. I'm also unsure how the hotel could have been described as eco. Secretive: It also wasn't until the second week of our stay, when brand reps for a travel company came to visit, that we were told about the gym and the hot tub was uncovered. A fellow guest went in and noticed lots of dust and took a few snaps of the state so we stayed clear. At no point did I see anything that made me believe this was a resort and "spa". We didn't even know there was the option to get food at the hotel outside of breakfast as this was not advertised and the staff were not forthcoming - definitely not your typical Greek hospitality. Disappointing food: We booked B&B, but the standard "greek" breakfast was in fact cereal, cold meats and cheese, fruit, some variations of hot food heated by tea lights, shop bought croissants and cake, and stale bread. It was basic and uninspired to the point where we actually went elsewhere for breakfast a few times. I expected the option to order hot food, or even for the assortment to be adapted occasionally, but alas.
