Kapiti Ocean Motel

This motel does not have ocean views as the name suggests but is a short drive from the ocean. The room was spacious, comfortable bed and couch and was also clean. The bathroom was not too roomy but was adequate for our needs. It was in a quiet area and a good nights sleep was achieved.

A inoffensive large room that was very cold, probably fine in the summer when heating is not an issue. On the plus side: Absolutely spotlessly clean through out, the bed was, big, comfortable and made with fabulously crisp linen and thanks to the electric blanket gratefully warm. Lovely white fluffy towels and plenty of hot water for the shower. A reasonable selection of teas & coffees. Very pleasant welcoming hosts. There was what looked like a private patio area at the rear, probably pleasant in the summer. Down side: most of the furniture was very dated would look more at home in a retirement home, selection of sky channels may suit some but was too narrow. the heater supplied was inadequate for heating the room. I like wet floor showers but again this needs to be updated. Neutral: Generally speaking a quiet motel, however you do hear the engines of the planes flying out of the airfield, which is close by, fairly early in the morning.
