Mare Paphos

We are a family of 3 (son 2yr old) and visited the hotel in November 2024, the last week before the end of season. Given its end of season, it was very quiet, meaning we didn’t have to queue for anything and was very relaxed. I imagine in height of season there might be a little waiting time but you would imagine the same in any hotel. Pro’s / cons for a family with a 2 year old; Pro: - staff were incredibly kid friendly, very approachable and engaging - kids area is good, but maybe more suited for 3+ - lots of food available - general buffet food was really nice, clean and lots of variety - rooms were very nice and clean and accommodated our needs for a 2 year old - entertainment was good, again, end of season so probably not as much as normal - amazing views of the sea - I would advise spending the extra for a sea view room otherwise you face the car park - restaurants (Italian and green and grill) had brilliant food, would happily pay outside of the hotel for that standard Cons: - pools were a little cold, but not a dealbreaker - being end of season felt service lacked a little, didn’t get towels one day for our room, water wasn’t restocked in our room etc. - the hotel obviously runs as half board too, which means they have prices on menus which is confusing, and sometimes thing you would expect to be included aren’t for a 5* - not really a beach nearby (but not the hotels fault) although you can go snorkeling which is really great - play park was more for older children, could do with some swings and little slides. Overall we had a brilliant relaxing time, I would happily return.

I had a lovely Cretean massage with Theodora. She was very professional and took into account my request for a deep tissue massage. She checked in with me throughout and was very thorough. All the staff At the spa were attentive and polite. I would recommend.

We had a 7 day all inclusive holiday at the Mare in Paphos. The hotel had just opened for the holiday season, the friendly and professional staff were quickly in their stride, greeting us with a warm welcome. You could tell it was going to be good from the start. The room was well appointed, modern with plenty of power points and also numerous phone and tablet charging points, this was a bonus as we had a few things to keep charged. The food in the main buffet restaurant was varied and very good but occasionally it could have been a little hotter. For our 7 nights we were entitled to 2 visits from a choice of the 4 A La Carte restaurants. Due to availability, we first dined in the ‘Gourmet Burger Club’, normally this would not be our choice and we went with low expectations, boy were we wrong, we were greeted by some lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for us, the menu had a large choice of truly gourmet burgers and I opted for the ‘1937’, which was a version that first came to the UK, I loved it. I am not a burger person but this was a real treat and I shall visit again and will again book this option. Our second restaurant was the. ‘Green & Grill’, if you visit, book it immediately, the food was exquisite and I understand that the executive chef won a Greek tv competition similar to Master Chef and no wonder he did, we had an incredible meal. The hotel is in a lovely quiet location with a nice walk along the seafront, which we did frequently, there are nice pool areas which will suit all requirements. We had a fabulous holiday, made special by the lovely staff and well kept and presented hotel. We went in March, so weather a bit hit and miss but will definitely return again.
