Made my booking directly on the hotel's website whilst still in England and was able to make a reservation for the Meyer Werft tour at the same time. I was aiming to arrive mid-evening on the Sunday after travelling from London via Eurostar and onward by train. Unfortunately, on arrival in Brussels, I found my connecting train to Köln had been cancelled, which had the cumulative effect of my not arriving until well after midnight. Thankfully, I phoned ahead, and the receptionist arranged for me to be able to access my room key at this late hour. No taxis at the small Papenburg train station, but many thanks to the lovely family who kindly gave me a lift in their car to the hotel! My room was lovely; clean and comfortable with good en-suite facilities, and the range of breakfast items in the dining room was truly outstanding (I particularly liked the decorated boiled eggs, including the ones the north German 'Moin-Moin' greeting :-). Friendly staff were on hand who answered my questions about the location and my Meyer Werft trip. (Tip: For Meyer Werft, the hotel will give you a printed receipt if you have booked the trip via the hotel, but you can take this to Meyer's Mühle visitor centre and get the 'official' photograph ticket as a souvenir. ) I spent two nights at Park Hotel and enjoyed my stay very much.

Das Parkhotel ist ein gutes 3-Sterne-Hotel in Toplage. Die Innenstadt mit verschiedener Gastronomie ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Ja, das Hotel ist nicht nagelneu, aber alles ist in Ordnung und sauber. Das Badezimmer war relativ neu und mit begehbarer Dusche. Für die Fahrräder ist ausreichend Platz im Fahrradschuppen und in den Garagen. Der absolute Knaller ist das Frühstück! Frische, knusprige Brötchen, eine reichhaltige Wurst- und Käseauswahl, Fisch, frisches Obst und und und. Man konnte sogar frische Waffeln backen. Es gibt einen Aufenthaltsraum und eine Terrasse, auf der man sehr schön sitzen kann und einen Kühlschrank, wo man sich gegen ein Entgelt bedienen kann. Einen kleinen Kühlschrank auf dem Zimmer gibt es auch. Und das gesamte Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wenn wir nochmal in der Nähe sind, kommen wir bestimmt wieder!

Aangename stop dicht tegen centrum en op wandel afstand, leuk om Papenburg te ontdekken. Het beste ontbijt ooit, mooi verzorgd en grote keuze, in rustige omgeving. Hadden spijt te moeten vertrekken na 2 nachten Goed hotel bij het park en rustig.

Das Hotel ist ruhig, die Zimmer großzügig. Getränke in der Minibar sind kostenlos. Die Boxspringbetten sind weich und schmal. Parkplätze vor Ort sind kostenlos. Beim Einchecken wird der Coronastatus abgefragt.
