Edgewater Beach and Golf Resort by Southern Vacation Rentals

Aside from the amazing location of the resort, the only positive thing I can say about room 107 in Tower 1 was that it was clean and bug free. Otherwise, we were not pleased with our accommodations at all. For reference, we booked through Southern Vacation Rentals. Here’s the list of things we had issues with: 1. The footboard was not attached to the king bed, it was shoved under the bed. 2. The table pictured in the living room was not there. We found it in the master bedroom closet - sans the glass top (we assume it got broken at some point). It took up space, making part of the closed unusable. 3. The sofa and the loveseat were heavily stained. We covered it with sheets. 4. The was no remote for the TV in the living room, so we wouldn’t watch it. 5. The lighting was very poor, and many of the switches found throughout didn’t seem to do anything. 6. Some of the knobs on the bedroom furniture were missing or sticking out partially. 7. The headboard of the king bed was loose and kept banging the wall. We had to put something behind it to cushion it. 8. When we arrived, we discovered that the provided security code for the room was incorrect. We had to call and get a new one. 9. Some of the outlets didn’t work. 10. The furniture is WAY OLDER and worn than it appears in the photos. DON’T TRUST THE PHOTOS. We called and reported the above concerns and we were told that someone would be out to “do repairs”. No one ever came. We were also told that any sort of consideration for a refund could only happen after checkout. We spent nearly $3,000 for a one week stay. We will not be returning.

We have had many concerns and very disappointed in this unit. First off we have found 2 large roaches today. The outlets in the unit are not secure and kept shorting out. No lights in any of the bedrooms, t.v. in the master did not work. Ceiling pieces missing, not in the frame, walls terrible shape, dry rot throughout, the curtains in the second room are ripped and held together with zip ties and both beds in the 3rd room have headboards that aren’t attached to the bed therefore fall over and can hit your head as you sleep. So we will be leaving tomorrow morning. We paid over 5000$ for this unit and highly upset with the upkeep and disgust from the roaches. We ended up leaving 2 days earlier and stayed somewhere else. Unit 1101.

WE were in tower 2, room 408 , terrible experience one commode didn't work shower low pressure, couches were filthy with stains, had to put a sheet over them, hardly no pans in kitchen to cook with, scum on shower stall in one bathroom tv didn't work nor internet had to call emergency number next day manager came up he took pictures and apologized this cost 500 a night apology not good enough very dirty walls bathrooms couches and floors no mob or cleaning stuff to clean with or condiments terrible place to rent. wont go back! Advise others dont believe pictures falsified

Overall, it was a fun place and so convenient for dance competitions as you can just walk across the bridge to the event center. The pool is way too warm and you can hardly smell any chlorine. We had multi dancers with swimmers ear so I’m thinking they need to readjust some stuff with the pool temp/ chemicals, etc. The Oceans restaurant had decent food but the service was absolutely horrible. So, so slow. There are so many kids at this resort so it would be kind of nice if they had kids activities.

We booked here via the phone back in the beginning of the year. We had previously stayed there two years ago and loved it. We book Tower 2 - Room 1003 - which is a 3 bedroom unit. We arrived late on May 19th (due to flights being changed) it was approximately 11 pm - checked in - went to the room and I thought I would die. I have never been so disgusted in my life. We just spent $3000 on a room I was afraid to lay my head down to rest in. Let me go room by room - see attached pictures for the room we paid almost $3000 for. First I spent hours in the office that night speaking with the night employee who told me he would have died if he had rented that room and got what we did. However he said there were NO more available 3 bedrooms - I said we will take a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom as long as it is clean - he again stated there were none available. I said well I can’t go to another hotel until I have a full refund of my money since you can’t accommodate us, he said I understand but there wasn’t a manager available until the next day. He advised me that he would have a manager contact me as soon as they came in which would be 9 in the morning. I told him I didn’t want to have to go through this whole matter again, he assured me I wouldn’t - so I leave the office at 3 in the morning and go back to the room - I go to lay down in the bed as I am exhausted and it was full of sand - sheets hadn’t been changed just the bed made up - I was again furious. The same bed literally sounded and felt like it was going to fall into two pieces. - However, I waited the next morning for the 9 am Manager Phone call that I never got, so I called the office, they said she was busy and to leave a name and number and she would call me back - so I did (again) - 11/12 in the afternoon still no call - is I called the front office again, I was again told manager was busy and the lady asked what the call was regarding, I said look at my info on the computer I am NOT going thru this again, she then got smart with me and said she would have the manager call me back…..I again waited another hour or so called back to the front office got the same song and dance, I told the lady on the phone that was fine I was coming down. Vanessa the manager said all website pictures were updated January of 22 - so yes I screen shot the pics on the website to lay beside the actual pics that I took - these are not the same pics. She literally dismissed everything I had to say and more or less acted like I was the one in the wrong. I asked her why she hadn't returned my calls she said she was busy interviewing people....excuse me ma'am I just spent my hard earned money to stay at your resort I should have been your first priority when you came into work. 2023 UPDATE: we wanted to come back in 2023 so we booked the same condo (Leeward 104). The day before our flight the management company called and said it had recently sold to new owners, and although they promised to honor existing bookings they had changed the locks and gone MIA. The manager didn’t have another property in that location so they agreed to issue a refund and we booked with someone else. When we got to our rental it was 80 degrees inside with the AC running full blast. They sent the AC guy who had already been there earlier in the day and said there was no refrigerant and he’d waited 3 hours to get on the roof. They let us look at two other units and we chose a larger one in tower 2. It’s fairly nice but toilets barely flush, bathrooms need paint and updates, there was confusion about where to get parking passes, and we had to get maintenance to fix the TVs. On top of all that, the original booking included parking and beach chairs. We had to pay $80 for parking and $65 plus tax/tip to rent chairs for one day. We went to Walmart and got chairs and an umbrella. Clearly the quality of the original condo was a fluke. I could just stay home with fewer headaches. We will not be coming back to Edgewater.
