Alia Palace Hotel - Adults Only 16+

This is a beautiful hotel, the views are incredible, the place is always clean and the staff are incredibly helpful and kind. Some reviews say it’s out of the way - it isn’t at all. There is a bus provided by the hotel that will take you to the town and beach however it is a 10-15 minute walk.

I personally purchased a stay at the Alia Palace Hotel in Pefkohori, Halkidiki, from 21.08 - 28.08.2025 (7 nights). In total, there were 13 of us friends staying in 6 rooms, of which 2 were superior double rooms with sea view and 4 were standard double rooms. I would like to bring to your attention some of the many problems encountered in this 5-star hotel (very many, in my opinion). 1. First of all, there is no difference between standard and superior double rooms, absolutely none. I am sure that the hotel manager sells them as he sees fit, trying to get a higher, undue profit, taking advantage of the naivety and inexperience of tourists, who pay more for a superior room and, in fact, are offered the same room identical to the standard one. 2. A family from our group could not arrive on the day of check-in and arrived the next day, on 22.08, at 05:00, after we had previously announced this and were told that there was no problem. Surprise, at 05:00 when they arrived, the reception told them that they no longer had the room because they had given it to other tourists and that they had to wait until 15:00, when they would be given another room. Such behavior is unacceptable from a 5-star hotel..... We asked to speak to the hotel manager, and when we asked him how it was possible that our friends no longer had the room they had paid for, he argued that they had to give it to other tourists....meaning they had been charged twice for one night's accommodation. We made the necessary arrangements through the agency, as well as verbally on site, to have our friends' one-night stay refunded, but the hotel management refused. Personally, I paid for a superior double room with a sea view and received a room (I repeat, both types of rooms are identical) on the ground floor with a view of the bushes.... I brought this issue up for discussion with the manager who promised me every morning that he would change my room.....even the day before departure....I, relying on his seriousness, did not unpack my luggage completely...obviously nothing happened. Another aspect would be the fact that in addition to the other negative components in our rooms, in my case the curtain from the window was torn and lying on the floor, in others the bathroom window would not open because of.....the toilet bowl, the lime on the ceiling was loose and falling, an aspect worthy of consideration would be the diversity of the food which was unchanged, identical, in all 8 days.....pathetic. Conclusion It is a 3* hotel at most, miserable, with poor management, the rooms are identical, but out of the desire to probably make a higher profit, they sell them as superior and obviously have a higher price. I was at this hotel in August 2025 with my wife, 2 daughters and 3 other families. We chose the hotel because we wanted to have a successful holiday and we were delighted by the 5 stars, the infinity pool and the rating from the reviews. In reality the hotel is approx. 3*, and the management is 1-max. 2* Negative aspects: -one of the families paid for the superior room with sea view (approx. 300€ extra) and received a normal double room, on the ground floor with a view of the Reception building and the hedge surrounding the hotel. They were told every day that their room would be changed, including one with its own pool, but this did not happen, and in the end they were told that they received the room they paid for - another family was delayed several hours after 3 pm, due to unforeseen problems, and when they arrived they were told that there was currently no room available because theirs had been given to another family in a room whose toilet had broken down. The manager said that he did not know if their room would be released (really? in a 5* hotel you do not have a clear situation of the rooms?) -the food is mediocre (cooked food, cold cuts, fornetti, desserts), there is little variety and the same dishes were served every day for both breakfast and dinner. - at dinner you had to pay for any drink, including water - one day I found a hair on a bunch of grapes served at dinner, tied together with lint, like the ones that form when you wash the floor. The head waiter tried to make fun of us (13 people) saying that it was actually a piece of peeled bark from the vine, which is out of the question. - my friends' daughter ordered a burger from room service in the evening and after an hour when she called to ask why the ordered food hadn't arrived she was told it would take another hour (and if someone walked to the store in the center of Pefkohori, they would still be back in an hour). Following our protests, someone decided not to charge the burger - trays with plates, dirty containers, empty bottles and leftovers from room service are left for half a day or even longer outside the hotel room doors, in the outdoor space at the discretion of the cats and dogs that walk through the hotel courtyard and spread them on the lawn. - the door to the room did not close properly, leaving a space of about 1 cm between it and the frame, where geckos would constantly enter - the ceiling in the bathroom was sagging, and one of the window's window slats was missing - the hotel boasted of its own beach, but to get to it you have to go about 5-6 km with a single minibus that fits about 13 people, which has 1 more stop to the beach, has no air conditioning, and the first ride is only at 09.30 (if you're lucky and it's not crowded, you'll be able to catch it) - the beach itself: about 14 aluminum sun loungers with nets, filthy (a blue towel got dirty on them) with some tired umbrellas that had to be patched at the joints so they wouldn't fall on your head. Honestly the most perfect place to spend time with your other half! We loved every second of it. The staff are the most friendly people that can’t do enough for you! The only possible negative comment i could come up with is they make it impossible for you to leave and leave you wishing you’d booked longer. Thank you so much for our stay!

Nothing to complain about with this hotel. Room was beautiful, food was lovely, something for everyone. Staff were great especially the buggy drivers. Nice experience in the spa. Already booked for next year. Such a relaxing holiday
