Albergo Cavour

Just around the corner from Palermo Centrale station its the ideal location for bus and train travel lovely family and spotless rooms and comfy beds as well Markets nearby for great street food . great value for money

Having read all the rave reviews, I was really looking forward to staying at Albergo Cavour and while it did live up to its hospitality (with a special breakfast and unique architecture) every time I entered the property ... I felt awkward! The property is located on the 5th floor of a dilapidated, under-construction building. To enter it, you first need to buzz at the front door of the building, waiting for someone to let you in and then ring the bell again on the 5th floor, waiting for someone to open the door. While, these calls were always answered quickly, I felt awkward and hesitant when I had to enter/exit 3 times during the day and then return late at night! The property is a bit far off from the old town and the touristic spots (around 15 min walk) but very close to Palermo Central (just across the road). The room was spacious but outdated with no extra ports and no lights. Being on the 5th floor did give me some great views of the city! The property is family owned and managed, which is something that certainly made it unique - it was like living with an Italian family with the owner mopping the floor as I entered, the son handling the reception and the grandmother enjoying her tele in the kitchen! The bathroom was well equipped, the wifi was functional and having an air-conditioner was amazing. The breakfast is delivered in the room, making the stay extra special! Other small, minor gripes include having to switch on a geyser in advance of requiring hot water, no trashbins in the room and lack of English speaking staff! All that said, at the end of the day comparing the stay and the price, you cant ask for more and Albergo is certainly worth every pence spent! Would certainly stay here again if they can somehow work around the entry/exit scenario. The state of the building might put off some people but if nothing else, just visit Albergo for the heritage elevator (I personally have never ridden anything like that)

La amabilidad y predisposición de María, la anfitriona, es para destacar. El cuarto, muy espacioso con un bonito balcón con vistas. El baño pequeño, pero con detalles: gorra de ducha, jabón y toallas para higiene íntima, etc El desayuno italiano en el cuarto: capuccino, jugo de naranja y cornettos al pistacchio, deliciosos. La ubicación es excelente, en cuanto a comodidad y cercanía a la estación. No, en cuanto a lo pintoresco ya que generalmente las zonas cercanas a las terminales no lo son. (Resulta curioso e injusto que algunos huéspedes critiquen el área al evaluar un hospedaje. Hoy en día es muy fácil conocer la zona donde uno va a alojarse a través de Google, antes de reservar)

E dopo 8 anni si torna a Palermo e dove si dormirà??? Da Giovanni e Maria, 2 persone splendide e disponibilissime. B&B pulito e accogliente, colazione in camera molto buona. Per noi a Palermo sarà sempre il nostro punto di riferimento.

Albergo molto pulito, ben gestito dalla sig. Maria , disponibile e gentile . Comodo per la centralità della locazione , da lì si possono agilmente raggiungere a piedi o con i mezzi i luoghi più belli di Palermo Posto tranquillo ed accogliente . Atmosfera familiare ..😀

Nous avons réservé dans cet hôtel pour notre première nuit en Sicile. Nous sommes arrivés et avons été accueillis par une très gentille dame. Malgré la barrière de la langue, elle est restée patiente. Nous avons essayé de parler italien et je pense que ça lui a fait plaisir. Nous avons bien rigolé. Pour ce qui est de l’hôtel, il est top. Un petit hôtel ( environ 10 chambres je crois) au 5ème étage d’un immeuble. Très intimiste et assez chaleureux. La chambre était plus que correcte. Plutôt grande, avec un bureau, télé, une armoire, et un très grand lit confortable! Et la salle de bain elle était grande. Un balcon sur lequel vous pouvez sortir, baie vitrée, volets, rideaux. Fenêtre dans la salle de bain également. Tout est mis à disposition, savon, serviette, tapis de bains, charlottes de bain ect… impeccable. Super propre. Le wifi y est disponible et fonctionne parfaitement bien. Si vous en avez besoin pour travailler ça ira parfaitement. Le petit dej est servi à la chambre à partir d’une heure convenue à l’accueil la veille. Il faut rendre les clefs quand on s’absente et venir les récupérer quand on revient. Franchement j’ai été agréablement surpris par cet hôtel. Il était tout bonnement parfait. Merci !!
