MPT Champak Bungalow, Pachmarhi

The hotel is situated at centre of the hill town. Rooms are nice and clean. We got LV 3 which is suite type and has lake facing back-balcony. Spread around in 5 acres, the hotel has playing area, pool, fitness centre and walking area. Overall great place to stay. Staff is helpful and courteous. Mr Jay Batham the reception incharge is very helpful and ready to extend help with smiling face. Restaurant is nicely located, spacious and beautiful lake view. Staff is good. Only suggestion is please keep green tea sachets in guest rooms and keep two 1 Lt each water bottle instead of one 2 Lt. Best

Room service not upto mark ie intercom not working but overall experience is good, food was great & campus was beautiful & naturally gifted.

I really wonder how this bungalow still holds such high ratings despite the poor management and lazy reception staff. The only commendable service is from the restaurant team, who were genuinely attentive and polite. The property itself is beautiful, with an enjoyable location and good surroundings. However, the rooms lacked proper cleaning and upkeep, and the interiors clearly need attention. The biggest disappointment was the reception and manager’s behavior. On our arrival, I waited patiently as the manager was busy with another guest. When I requested help with our luggage, he rudely shouted, “Hey, you have reservation here?” I was shocked — is this how a guest is welcomed? Obviously, anyone at reception would be a guest. After confirming our booking, there was still no welcoming gesture or assistance with luggage. We carried our bags ourselves. Check-in was another unpleasant experience. Initially, they told us to wait one hour. After about 20 minutes, a checked-out guest returned the keys, yet nobody bothered to arrange cleaning. When I followed up, only then they realized the keys were available. Cleaning was started late while the staff returned to playing mobile games and YouTube videos. This kind of laziness feels more like a government-run property than a guest-oriented place. Food options were limited too, especially considering the rates charged. Overall, the property location is good, but the management and reception services are extremely poor. It seems most of the good reviews are from before COVID, and recent reviews reflect the decline — perhaps due to a change in management. I personally would not recommend this property for future stays despite its potential.

We stayed from 28 to 31st July 2025 @ Shekhar Bungalow in Lakeview Cottages 1,2 & 4. This was my 30th Trip to Pachmarhi and have stayed at many different hotels. While Champak Bungalow is a great property with best location, amenities are not guest friendly for Rainy season. Food was good, staff courteous. No umbrellas provided for going from reception to room to Restaurant to Parking and very troublesome in Monsoon. Manager of the property Mr Dandotiya was attentive to issues and resolved other issues quickly.

Champak Bungalow offers an incredible stay with top-notch hospitality. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, surrounded by nature. A special thanks to Mr. Jay Batham and Mr. Mukul for their excellent service! A perfect place to plan your trip with your family and friends

Good location..good food, service was good... Tv cable not working, not recharged even after request... Room allotment should be better.
