Masseria Salinola

We had a wonderful 3 days at the masseria. We had a great time. The owner was very helpful with everything we needed. The breakfast was great. A lovely atmosphere makes you feel like home and very close to Ostuni, my favorite spot in Puglia. The room was small but very well organized. During our visit the weather was cold so we could not enjoy the pool and outside seating but everything looked beautiful

We had such a wonderful stay at Masseria Seminola. It was definitely the perfect ending to a two week trip to Europe. We loved everything about it. Best of all was the hospitality by Daniela and all the staff. The grounds have such a rustic, natural beauty. But there’s also such attention to detail with lots of comfortable sitting areas, shaded patios, fire pits with olive tree wood in the evenings, and a lovely pool with comfortable lounge chairs. To top it off, the food is the epitome of fresh farm to table, much of it from their gardens. The breakfasts with fresh fruit, baked goods and eggs to order was lovely. And we had the four course dinner here every night, always featuring local cuisine. One night was all seafood, one featured meat, and probably our favorite happened to be the vegetarian one with a local or orechette with anchovies, breadcrumbs, and turnip tops – never would’ve guessed it from the description, but it was absolutely delicious! The wines were very good and reasonably priced. We would usually start with a glass of sparkling rosé, and then move on to a glass of white or red, depending on the dishes. They also are very knowledgeable about the local area. They recommended a beach club to us, la Dolce Vita, which was only 15 minutes away with grassy area, beautiful cove beaches, dramatic rocks, and full restaurant and bar. The room was very comfortable. Can’t say enough great things. I really hope we are able to return someday!

I am happy to provide a fantastic review on Masseria Salinola. I assure you that if you stay here, you will not be disappointed. This is a high end Masseria managed by family with a passion to please, service and not disappoint you. The grounds are so clean and beautiful as are the rooms. The attention to detail is superb. The food is fantastic and delicious. The farm is filled with lovely decor as well as a charming and delightful staff. You have old world Italian charm and sophistication within a 16th century farmhouse. My husband and I were very impressed with this property and our visit. This is a MUST. Ciao!

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our three night stay at Masseria Salinola. We booked the absolutely charming fireplace room, although in June, we didn't actually use the fireplace. The bed was quite comfortable, nice bathroom with good water pressure, fridge in the room, bathrobes, great A/C, very clean, and tables and chairs outside our front door on the patio to relax in the shade with a beverage. The housekeeping staff was always prompt, with our room already refreshed while at breakfast. The owners of the property and the rest of the staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. The property has been in the same family for generations. The property is beautiful with a large garden, and many areas to relax. We very much appreciated the pool, as it was quite warm in June during our stay. Plenty of lounge chairs for the number of guests. In the evenings, fires were lit around the property, as well as atmospheric lighting to add to the magical setting. The Masseria is within walking distance of the historic center of Ostuni if without a car, probably 30-40 mins one-way, and there are also bikes for use with helmets and locks. We walked into Ostuni on a Saturday, market day, spent the day exploring Ostuni, and hired a tuk-tuk (25 euros) back to the Masseria in the afternoon. The staff can arrange taxi transport also to/from the train station or town. We rode bikes to/from Ceglie Messapica (approx 20 miles roundtrip), which is another worthwhile town. The route travels by olive and fig orchards, and many trulli and dolmen, on lightly traveled roads. It was a very picturesque outing in the Pugilese countryside. Cisternino is also within biking (maybe walking), or Vespa distance if without a car. We found the location of Masseria Salinola to be a good base for exploring the area. Now onto the food: Breakfast was delicious, served on an outdoor terrace covered by grape vines, overlooking the pool. Lunch and dinner are also served here during warm weather. Everything you could possibly want was available on the included breakfast buffet, from focaccia, frittata, other breads, many cakes, cheeses, meats, fruit, vegetables, granola, cereals, juices, yogurts, and eggs made to order. The jams were made on property from their orchards, as well as olive oil (all for sale). There is a tea corner available all day, with cakes in the afternoon, as well as an honor bar. There was always still and sparkling water available. Dinner was four courses, or less if desired, and a menu was available each morning for that evenings dinner to let the staff know if you'd like to dine at the Masseria. We dined at the Masseria all three nights, always a delightful experience. We felt dinner was reasonably priced and well worth it. They have a nice selection of wines every evening recommended for the menu. We can heartily recommend Masseria Salinola for it's location, atmosphere, amenities, comfort, food, value, cleanliness, and especially the gracious hospit

My wife and I travelled throughout the Puglia region and stayed in multiple five-star hotels and masserias during our month-long trip. Without a doubt, Masseria Salinola was by far the best we stayed at. Everything came together: the suite, the history, the hospitality of the entire staff, and especially that of Danielle, the owner. The fact that there are so few suites, we found ourselves privileged to have discovered and to have stayed at this magnificent location. I travelled extensively over the thirty years I ran a consulting business, and rarely did I see a place not only so well appointed but spotless. The pride Danielle has for this Masseria, which has been handed down over many generations, is very evident. To top it off, we enjoyed great meals accompanied by amazing local wines. Everything was perfect! It really feels like coming home. I wish it was my home :-) The hospitable welcome by Daniele and his staff, the attractive authentic Masseria that is so beautifully decorated, the pool with plenty of sun beds, the cozy seating areas everywhere and not to mention the delicious food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are of very high quality. Everything is dedicated to satisfying the guests. We really enjoyed our stay!
