If you are allergic to dogs, you may have to think before you book this hotel.
This is my first time to stay in The Singulari Hotel & Skyspa at Universal Studio Japan. The reason I chose this hotel is that it sits right next to USJ.
When we entered the room, which was in 5th floor, in not more than 10 seconds, we smelt a very, very strong dog smell. You know when a dog gets wet, its body odor will become very strong. It was like that kind of smell in the room. It was quite unbearable to us. So, I called the front desk to request a room change. When we got to the 2nd room, it was ok in the first 5 minutes, but, after that the dog smell started to accumulate. Since we had to stay there for 2 nights, I called the front desk again. This time they moved us to 6th floor, the room still had dog smell but less. At that time I was quite frustrated and tired. I said nothing but took the room. What I did was I went to the store right away and buy a deodorant to put it in the room. However, it did not really help much.
When I called the front desk and addressed the matter to them, they did not ask for anything but just changed the room for us. It seems that this kind of matter happens every day.
The interior of the room is a bit old, and the washroom area and the shower area are all in one room. The room has more than enough space for 2 people. Is it clean? It is just ok.
For sure next time we I go to USJ, I will try out another hotel.
