We booked the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando partly based on the listed price on ******* and partly because of the pictures of the water park. Upon check-in we were told that there is a $49 resort fee and a $27 parking fee - if this were known I likely would have selected a different hotel. The water park was not open during our stay. We were told the waterpark would be open the day we were checking out and we could use it that day after check-out, but check-out was at 10am and the waterpark opened at noon - we didn't stick around.
There is a guard booth/gate to get onto the property. When we arrived, they asked for our name and instructed us to pull up to the check-in area. The check-in process took a very long time - there was a long line of people and only 2 clerks working at 4 pm. While I was inside checking-in, a guard asked my elderly father in the passenger seat to pull the car forward. This was very difficult for him as he has a hard time walking. After I completed check-in and had the room keys, there were several IHG sales people that approached me and kept mentioning some sort of check-in gift. They wanted too much information and I figured they were trying to sell time-shares, so I said no thank you and walked away.
The room was very clean and we had no issues - everything was as expected for a decent hotel room. There was a lot of noise from the guests in the room next door just after midnight that woke me up, but not too big a deal.
I would not stay here again.
