Gondwana Etosha Safari Lodge

Отель не оправдал ожиданий. За 3 недели путешествия самый дорогой отель. Номера на двоих маленькие, холодильника нет. Вид из балкона печальный. Смотрите на стену из маленьких деревьев. Нам поменяли без доплат на семейный номер. Они большие, находятся ближе к ресторану и вид соответственно не на лес, а как бы выше, т.к. ресторан и главный корпус находится на возвышенности. Чем дальше номер от ресторана, тем домик ниже и вид никакой. Мы ходили в бассейн у ресторана, вода теплая. Брали ужин 500 нам.дол на человека. Ужин шведский стол без напитков. На ужине очень темно, лампы, стоящие на столе очень туслые. Не видишь, что ты ешь. Ужин вкусный, но все равно для Намибии очень дорогой.

Etosha safari lodge is clean with nice lodges which are slightly dated but absolutely fine. The main reception area is good with an excellent viewing station bar looking over a very small watering hole where we saw a few zebra, Duiker, and warthog with a nice cold reasonably priced beer. The buffet was the only slightly disappointing downside. Good quality was ok but nothing special for the relatively expensive price? We were placed one evening in the hallway and had to argue to be moved not the main dining area. It’s only a few minutes from the Anderson Gate so is very convenient for the park. Overall would recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights in May 2025 , pleasant greeting upon arrival with an iced tea and a face towel for refreshing ourselves . Taken into reception and given the rundown on how everything works . Our room was ok but lots of little things needing doing or were broken ( floor in a terrible condition - toilet broken , not flushing , no plug in sink ) I contacted reception and they were very quick in fixing toilet and supplying plug . The communal areas around the 3 pools were all very tired and in some cases dangerously loose decking boards sticking up or broken ! The Dinner was disappointing you only had the choice of having a buffet , and regardless of how much you wanted it was all the same price £ 550 NMB - so even if you only had a plate of salad it was still £550 ! No option for 1 price for a starter ( if that’s all you wanted ) or 1 price for a main - and 1 price for a desert ! I didn’t think this was very good as I’m not a big eater and I didn’t want to pay the same price for a salad that someone else was paying for starter - main and desert . However I did speak to the manager and after some negotiation she allowed me to have just salad on one night and charged me accordingly ( the two other nights I didn’t eat ) but had a late lunch , ironically the lunch menu was much better than the Dinner buffet and was also all priced individually . Great location but poor accommodation and dilapidated pool areas

Etosha Safari Camp offers a convenient and comfortable base just outside the park gates. While the tents are fairly close together, our Camping2Go tent was elevated on a concrete platform, giving us a lovely view of the bush and the occasional passing antelope. The tent itself was as usual well-equipped, including linen, wine glasses, a coffee plunger, and a BBQ/fire pit setup (just remember to bring your own firewood). The Shebeen-style bar and dining area adds character to the camp. Although the braai buffet is popular with tour groups, we opted for a takeaway pizza from the lunch menu (available until 4pm), which made for a relaxed evening meal at our tent. A great mix of comfort, convenience, and character.

During our self drive trip to Namibia, we visited Etosha National Park. We have chosen this accommodation because - besides from the reviews we found online - we wanted to stay near Anderson's Gate. The location of this camp is really good, just a few kilometers from the Anderson's Gate and it's located up in a hill right at the side of the road. We stayed in one chalet which had a really large room and very good bathroom. It also had a small porch. Our chalet had a lot of privacy - as I believe the remaining have - which was really good. The restaurant and terrace area was very nice with plety of tables around and a bar. The swimming pool seemed nice, but we didn't used it. The staff was nice and friendly and ready to help when needed. We didn't had the dinner, as we preferred to eat some self-catering we carried with us at the chalet. The breakfast was good with plenty of options. The wifi was a joke. When we arrived, we needed to ask the lady at the bar to help us connecting and she only could do it by restarting the router. After a while, we realize that all arriving guests had the same problem, so the lady at the bar needed to restart the router each new gust arrived. A couple of weeks before my arrival I've sent an email asking if it would be good to book the half day game drive in advance and we received the answer that we could just book it on arrival. I've done it on arrival but... it was fully booked. So, if you want to book a game drive, book it in advance.

This lodge is circa 20 minutes' drive from the Andersson gate at Etosha. We had the chalet furthest away from the restaurant, so it was very quiet and peaceful. At sunrise, we were excited to see two giraffes standing right by our chalet's terrace. Amazing. The chalet was clean and beautiful inside. We booked a safari drive to Etosha from here and although we did not see a lot of game that afternoon, our guide was helpful and friendly, and he pointed out many birds, including an eagle owl and a goshawk chick. Food was excellent. We liked the non-routine aspect of being allocated a different table every night and morning. The outside bar area is a lovely place to watch the sun go down and you can also view animals at the small waterhole there. Although there are tour groups, the management cleverly keep individual travellers as far apart from them as possible for meal times and for accommodation. All in all, a great experience!
