I never normally leave reviews, however, I feel that in this case someone needs to leave an HONEST review. Just want to start by saying the positives, which were the food and entertainment. Lots of options of food, restaurant staff worked hard and were always accommodating. The entertainment team worked day and night keeping the children happy so Thank you. Also, the pool area was best bit in the hotel. This is where we spent most of our time as the rooms were just awful. Not somewhere you could wind down and relax. In May 2025 myself and my family of six arrived at Orka Sunlife hotel. We checked in and was shown our ‘standard rooms’. The first thing that surprise me was the hundreds of stairs that you have to climb in order to reach your room. There is one old looking lift that is slow and the glass doors were smashed. On entrance to the lobby area there were countless dirty plates and cups left on the floors and metal benches coming away from the floor with tatty old dirty cushions on top (not what I expect for a 5 star hotel). When we arrived at the room, the smell of sewage was overpowering and the cleanliness of the room was very noticlable. Also, the rooms were extremely small. There was nowhere to put our cases or clothes for 3 people, only one small wardrobe with around 6 hangers. My daughter’s bed was an armchair that had been turned into a single bed with a thin blanket. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. I just want to add that the ‘standard room’ as advertised on the website was NO reflection on the actual room itself, infact I feel this is false advertisement. As a family of six I was given two rooms which were floors apart, not appropriate when I have a young family. The balcony of the room was opposite the noisy lifts and you could hear people all through the night as the hotel has a 24hour bar. On the first night there were people arguing and shouting close to my balcony which made me feel unsafe and we didn’t sleep. I decided to go to the reception to express my concerns and was told to come back at 9 am in the morning. When I went back at 9 am in the morning and was greeted by three reception staff who couldn’t understand what I was saying and just continued to giggle and speak in their own language. I found this very unprofessional and unhelpful. Finally, I was able to speak to the manager and express my concerns. He agreed to change my room but it wouldn’t be ready until 12 am. I went back at 12 and was told the room wasn’t ready and told to go back in an hour. Again, i went back in an hour and was told the room still wasn’t ready and go back at 14:30. This time when I went back I was visually upset and they finally agreed to show me a new room. I was taken to the first one, similar to my old room but was told it was the wrong room and to go back to reception. Again, another room was shown and I was told it was the wrong one and to go back to reception. Just to add, the amount of stairs I had to climb d
