Six Senses Laamu

This was a magical holiday made even more special because of the wonderful people that make the holiday so enjoyable and relaxing! An enormous thanks and shout out to our brilliant GEM Fahudh and the amazing Hisham , Ihaka, Aditya, Hassan! The island was paradise, the food quality and choice was perfect! I couldn’t fault it! We went to Six Senses Laamu for a family holiday at the beginning of April 2025. It really is the most amazing place and there is absolutely nothing I could fault. The staff were attentive, the food delicious, our villa was simply stunning. I have to mention our GEM Faudi who was just the best. Nothing was a problem, he was always available and sorting all sorts of trips, dining experiences and events. If you go definitely ask for him as your GEM! Thank you to everyone at Six Senses Laamu for making our holiday such a memorable one.

This hotel is pure magic. My family and I have just returned from 10 dreamy days at six senses lamuu. It was our second visit and somehow more spectacular than the 1st. The location is obviously to die for, powder white sand with crystal blue water. The restaurants and bars are perfection. Be sure to go to Zen for a fabulous Japanese experience. Sip sip for my fave ever tuna tartar (l literally ate this for lunch every day because I was that obsessed). Chill bar for a post-snorkelling sundowner, and the Asian street food feast at longitude for endless deliciousness. They can't do enough for the children and go out of their way to ensure they are properly catered for, my eldest daughter ordered completely off menu every day and they always delivered. Homemade tofu nuggets were a firm favourite for her, and freshly prepared vegetable or fruit purees for my youngest. Not forgetting the notorious breakfast pancake artist. The reef is so vibrant, our daily snorkelling trips we saw turtles, thousands of colourful fish, reef sharks and rays. Our beach villa garden was home to a momma bird and her chicks, and at breakfast the dolphins would often make an appearance. Magic. But what really makes this place so special is the staff: shout out to our 'GEM' Riq who made our trip. The customer service we received from him was second to none, an extraordinarily thoughtful man who is remarkably good at his job. To Hisham in Zen for taking such good care of us again this year and treating us like old friends. Ahula for doting on our 7 month old in the kids club. Hassan for being such a friendly face at every meal and teaching us so much about the Maldives. Ahmed for keeping our Vila immaculate despite the chaos from the children. Nick for making delicious drinks and cracking all the jokes at Sip sip. I could go on and on... A beautiful place full of beautiful humans and I CANNOT wait to return!!

For those that want a quick read, my summary would be: The island, the resort, the food and beverage and the rooms are utter perfection. It is literally the most beautiful place on the world. What makes it even more unique is the staff and service, both their kindness and great nature but also the impeccable training and attention to detail. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in the best hotels round the world, and this is in my top 3. It was our second time going and we will return as much as possible, so book immediately! For a longer summary (as this place deserves it).. -The resort and surroundings are absolutely stunning, they offer some of the best snorkelling, water sports, beach walks, surfing, swimming in the pool, beach dinners, and pretty much everything else you could ever imagine. The rooms are beautifully designed, perfectly connecting pure luxury and island life. We had a beach family villa and as you always hope for they’ve really thought about the needs of a family. Cleverly designed hatches connecting both bedrooms, slippers and gowns both for the adults and children, every possible item you could need if you have a baby. For the adults, the room is beyond ridiculous, a gorgeous roof terrace with a section both shaded and unshaded, a hammock perfect for mid afternoon naps, a swimming pool and ofcourse what is effectively a private beach just 10 steps from your pool. However the beach doesn’t just feel private, it is absolutely stunning. We went to dinner late pretty much everyday so that we could enjoy every second of the sunset on the beach. I’ve had similar offerings in Mexico, St Bart’s, Oman, Costa Rica and even Maldives: this is by far the best in this area. -The restaurants and bars are extremely thoughtful in terms of curation, totally delicious and in some of the most beautiful settings. Whether you want cocktails in the swimming pool, a teppanyaki which puts Benihana to shame, a Japanese which rivals Nobu, a luxurious set menu desaigned around the produce they grow, themed buffets which are both expansive and delicious or even just ‘the chill bar’ which is a perfect name as you can order global favourites in the most beautiful setting. We were half board and half of us are vegetarians so our perspective is quite broad. They have ample options for vegetarians. They are extremely generous with half board which makes a real change. For children, not only is it entirely free under a certain age, but also they will quite literally make anything your child wants and make it a priority to do so. My five year old was in heaven. They even got a puree menu for babies, which my baby devoured daily! -The staff and service is what separates this place from the rest, it is extremely rare how well they do it. How they balance being constantly present but never overbearing is extremely difficult. Whilst showing such immense kindness and professionalism. The hiring and training/ enablement by management is clearly world class.

On arrival to Male airport, our seaplane transfer was quick and seamless. 1hr smooth flight and we hopped on a boat for a quick trip to the island. I loved how we were encouraged to take off our shoes, and keep them off during our stay! This resort truly takes barefoot luxury to a new level- the quality and variety of food, amazing massage, and outstanding marine life. The resort team made us feel so welcomed and they assigned us with the perfect Guest Experience Manager-Riq. He made us feel so relaxed and comfortable right from the start, and created a wonderful itinerary. As we were leaving our villa on the last day, he spotted a turtle and reef shark, not sure how he organised that ;)

We had an amazing stay at Six Senses Laamu – an absolutely stunning resort surrounded by nature. The island is quite large, offering plenty of space to explore, and the house reef is simply breathtaking! The food was excellent, with a great variety of high-quality dishes, and the spa experience was truly relaxing. The villas are spacious and beautifully designed in the signature Soneva style, blending luxury with a natural touch. A special mention and huge compliments to Fahudh, Amaan, and Yaamin – their outstanding service made our stay unforgettable. Rarely have we experienced such a dedicated and professional team! We are already looking forward to returning – keep up the great work!
