Cute hotel. Scuzzy area. Lots of police in area pulling over cars right in front of hotel. Hotel is nice, you can tell it’s old but small renovations have been made to improve its appearance . City view rooms are a no lol

Noisy a/c heat unit, single paned windows facing freeway. Lights did not work in sink and entry. HB eggs had gone bad at breakfast bar

Very professional and polite. They were able to accommodate my early check in which was great and a big relief. The process was smooth and the room was nice.

Oakland has a not-so-great reputation (somewhat underserved). But this hotel is located in a unique place next to a channel and fishing pier separated fairly conclusively from Oakland proper by a freeway and railroad track. That's not a bad thing because over the freeway and railroad track is a quasi industrial area with scattered homeless tent cities. Nevertheless, the freeway and railroad tracks are an effective barrier against street hassles. I rather stay here than in San Francisco city. BART and the highways allow access to Silicon Valley, Napa, and Marin without the horrific traffic jams near the city. By the way, Oakland has some excellent black southern and creole food as well as BBQ . . . don't knock Oakland till you've tried it!

Staff was friendly and super helpful! The surrounding area however is almost completely overrun with a nasty homeless encampment. It is a little scary. Driving by the post office a little way from the hotel, we saw that ALL the USPS vehicles are covered in graffiti. Sad to see this.

The staff at the front desk was great! Very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and big. However, I had a hard time sleeping because of the freeway noise.

This hotel is a good place to stay in the east bay. Bayfront trail accessible and an easy walk to Brooklyn Basin. Freeway access is good. My opinion; parking should be free but it’s also the cheapest deal for parking in the bay. Enjoyed the hot tub and pool on a chilly Bay Area evening! I will stay here again.

The breakfast was horrible...biscuits and potatoes. Only one bar of soap for bathing and washing hands. For the price I was expecting much more. The room itself had a strange layout. I will Not be here again.

Staff was great, gave us a free upgrade to waterfront view, which we really appreciated. Breakfast average for hotel. Did not like that beds were not made daily. But minor.

You could tell it’s been revamped but new staff and upgraded facilities you could really see the possibilities I’ll be back.
