Very disappointed with my recent one-night stay. I gave it 2 stars (rather than 1 star) because the room was clean. That was the only positive attribute. The service at this hotel was atrocious. - Housekeeping walked in my room, without knocking, while the do not disturb sign was on. I was not fully dressed (in my underwear). Rather than apologize and quickly close the door, the staff member stood in the open doorway (exposing me to anyone who could be walking down the hall) and proceeded to try have a conversation with me, asking me when I was leaving. I was dumbfounded, I finally had to firmly say, “Get Out” for her to shut the door and leave. - My friends also had their Do Not Disturb sign on their room, and the same thing happened to them. - It was 10:02am, 2 minutes after check-out. So, we were late checking out (more on that later), but it does not excuse the behavior. - I reported this to a Manager, (middle aged, tall woman with dark hair, slender) she apologized but did not seem sincere and did not offer anything for service recovery (a coffee, a discount for F&B, etc.) - I mention the service recovery because I had a reservation that included breakfast, I went to the lobby for bfast at 9am on the dot. I was told breakfast ended at 9am. I was surprised, they had not mentioned that at check-in and I assume it would be 9:30, like the other hotels I had visited in Greenland. That said, I understood and asked if I could just get a cup of coffee. I was told no, service had ended and it was all cleaned up. At this point I protested a bit, and while the above Manager looked on, the front desk associate pulled out the check-in card and said, “it says the time right here). - The associate who checked me in, never gave us a check out time, never gave us a breakfast time. Never even told us to read the key jacket for important info. Yet, when problems ensued their answer wasn’t to try to assist or help, or offer a solution, it was to point to the card and tell me “it’s on the card”. I stay over 100 nights a year at various hotels all over the world. This was the worse service I have had in over 10 years. I would not recommend this hotel. The amenities are basic and if you have any sort of issue, it does not appear there is a culture of appreciating, valuing, and problem solving for the guest. On another note, we went to their sister hotel for lunch, the waiter was outstanding. But, I asked the front desk staff for info and directions and they too we’re unhelpful, short, and told me to “google it”. This hotel chain has a serious service issue.
