Bennetts Hotel

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff-team, and the cleanliness of our room and the hotel facilities stood out for us. The hotel was everything we needed for a short stay and well priced for its standard. The downstairs public areas have been nicely refurbed with a modern touch. The staircase to the bedrooms is narrow and would benefit from a refresh of the grey paint and grey carpet. The grey theme continues upstairs where the layout is quirky with narrow corridors and would benefit from a refreshed lighter look. Our Superior room was nicely prepared but had a curiously large empty space and a TV therefore too far away to watch from the bed. It would benefit from some comfy chairs and a coffee table. There was a rickety clothes rail instead of a wardrobe (the wardrobe alcove had lost its rail). Being at the front there was a degree of traffic noise. We’d stay again but ask for a basic room on the side of the building. There is car parking at the back, about 8 -10 spaces, accessed easily by turning left after the hotel, first left and left again, to come back down a one way street. I don’t know if it has CCTV but we experienced no problems. Breakfast is not their thing, a basic cooked meal (no choice/options) provided on request, but does the job, unless you have special requirements like GF foods.

A basic property, but clean and with generally good staff service. My room was on the main road, and so a little noisy, and the mattress was not the most comfortable. However, I slept very well and the room was clean, if basic. If I had known that there was an Indian/Nepalese restaurant on site, I would have arrived earlier and eaten there. As it was, I had breakfast freshly prepared in the morning, albeit fifteen minutes later than promised. If arriving by car, the car park is small and unlit, and can only be accessed by navigating the maze of one way streets behind the hotel.

Visited the restaurant after it had been recommended. Lovely food, really good curries and definitely one of the best I have had out. Catered well for our daughter with a half portion of curry and even gave her a free ice cream. Brilliant service and staff and food was enjoyed by all. Will definitely visit again

We didn't stay in the hotel, but tried the restaurant. We were a bit dubious as there was nobody else on arrival at the restaurant, plus no-one else came whilst there. The menu is somewhat limited, but the food is really good and hard to fault. The building is tidy and clean, and the staff are obliging and friendly, so no complaints here. There's a deal to be had for couples, £28 for poppodums and pickles starters, then a curry and rice, or naan each. The portions are good, so we had the starters, two currys, one rice and one naan, more than adequate. I would recommend!

The restaurant was amazing. Delicious food, excellent service and very reasonable price. A vary varied menu and we even had free coffee. I definitely recommend it, especially the seabass. This restaurant is well with a visit. Next time I am in Long Eaton, I will come again!

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful the room are clean and comfortable with on suite we dinned in the hotel twice the food was amazing , i recommend this hotel For a comfortable stay , a drink or a meal you will enjoy this gem in Long Eaton
